NFL DFS Plays: Sunday 1/10

Updated On: January 10, 2021, 9:09 am ET

This article aims to highlight some of the best NFL DFS Plays at every position for your cash game lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the week, and sometimes injury situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NFL News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.

We’ll take a look at the three-game slate for Wild Card Sunday. Lineups lock at 1:05 ET with Baltimore vs. Tennessee starting things off.

QUARTERBACK

Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh (vs. Cleveland) - DK: $6,100 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $29

This slate has a much different feel than Saturday’s player pool. On Sunday, we have an abundance of top plays without many confident bargains to balance them out. Maybe some last-minute news will open up salary relief options, but that’s not the case at the time of writing this article (Friday afternoon). Either way, you’ll probably have to make some choices between the studs of this slate. I’m prioritizing Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara (assuming he plays) over Lamar Jackson - even though the Baltimore QB has a ton of upside in this matchup. Simply put, I have more faith that Roethlisberger can finish closer to Jackson’s fantasy score than any other RB can compare to Henry/Kamara. The Steelers are expected to score points on Sunday (26.5 projection), and that will likely come from the arm of Roethlisberger. The Browns have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to QBs this season, so Big Ben could come through with a nice fantasy performance.

Also Consider: Lamar Jackson

RUNNING BACK

Derrick Henry - Tennessee (vs. Baltimore) - DK: $9,200 / FD: $10,200 / Yahoo: $40

The matchup could be better, but Henry will continue to carry the Tennessee offense. He posted an admirable 28-133-1 (19.7 FP) at Baltimore on November 22, and that’s a reasonable projection this time around. Of course, Henry has upside beyond that with a safe fantasy floor to boot. The salary is expensive, making him a realistic fade in large-field tournaments. Having said that, I’m locking in Henry as a cash game pillar on Sunday.

Alvin Kamara - New Orleans (vs. Chicago) - DK: $8,500 / FD: $9,000 / Yahoo: $37

We think Kamara will play on Sunday, but keep an eye out for the official word. Similar to Henry’s write-up, Kamara has an unbelievable fantasy floor/ceiling combination despite the subpar matchup. It is extremely difficult to fade him, especially while looking at the other RB/WR options of this slate. Kamara is an even stronger play than Henry when considering his cheaper salary across the board.

Also Consider: David Montgomery, James Conner

WIDE RECEIVER

Michael Thomas - New Orleans (vs. Chicago) - DK: $6,300 / FD: $6,800 / Yahoo: $26

Thomas is set to play on Sunday, but we aren’t sure how effective he’ll be. Still, the salary has fallen dramatically, so we aren’t risking too much when clicking him into a lineup. You know he’ll see a healthy amount of targets, and there’s room for upside if Thomas has had enough time to get over that ankle sprain. I believe that’s a situation worth looking towards on this slate.

Darnell Mooney - Chicago (at New Orleans) - DK: $3,900 / FD: $5,400 / Yahoo: $13

Chicago will probably need to throw the ball in order to keep pace with New Orleans. Allen Robinson is still the Bears’ alpha receiver, but Darnell Mooney is capable of big games as well. He has been up-and-down all season, but Mooney came through with a sweet 11-93 showing on 13 targets last week. We’ll need to double-check his status while moving closer to kickoff (questionable with an ankle injury), but Mooney represents a fine bargain if he’s good to go.

Also Consider: Diontae Johnson, Marquise Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster

TIGHT END

Eric Ebron - Pittsburgh (vs. Cleveland) - DK: $3,700 / FD: $5,500 / Yahoo: $17

As mentioned earlier, the Steelers will need to get the job done through the air in order to get the victory. I’m expecting Roethlisberger to spread the ball around, and Eric Ebron should get his chances. The Steelers’ TE has seen seven or more targets in four of his last six games. The Browns have allowed the third-most fantasy points to TEs this season.

Also Consider: Austin Hooper, Mark Andrews

DEFENSE

Saints Defense (vs. Chicago) - DK: $3,800 / FD: $4,600 / Yahoo: $18

The Saints represent the chalk defense of this slate. Going against Mitchell Trubisky as a home favorite will do that for you. If you have enough salary to roster them, then by all means make that happen. However, I’m not opposed to placing a cheap filler at defense in order to make the other players of this article (Kamara/Henry) work. Who knows - maybe injury situations will open more value on this slate and the Saints Defense will be easier to attain.

Also Consider: Steelers Defense
