NBA Tourney Targets: Friday

Updated On: December 3, 2018, 6:02 pm ET

Tonight we have a solid ten-game slate that is loaded up with some appealing GPP options. The tournaments are massive across the industry, which should make tonight a very fun night of NBA DFS. Let’s hop into the analysis and see what type of plays we can find.

Point Guard

Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers – Irving appears to be nearing full health, which was evident by his 34 minutes of playing time on Wednesday. In addition to the increased playing time, Irving has been performing quite well lately with 43.2 and 44.5 FanDuel fantasy points in consecutive games. He was very low owned on Wednesday night, and I think we can expect the same tonight since people are still a bit hesitant to play him. The price on Irving varies around the industry, however his high ceiling combined with a low ownership percentage makes him an elite GPP target tonight.

Others to consider: Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard

Shooting Guard

Kobe Bryant – Los Angeles Lakers – Kobe was clicking on all cylinders last night on his way to 28 actual points in 31 minutes of action. He only played 31 minutes because the Lakers were down by 27 points and the bench made a great comeback and stayed in the game. Assuming Bryant is a full go on this back-to-back set, he makes for a very appealing GPP target tonight. The Lakers are big time underdogs at -15 on the NBA odds board, but if you dive deeper you will realize that they have actually played relatively well at home this season. Kobe is an interesting GPP option tonight, if he’s active.

Others to consider: Will Barton, C.J. McCollum

Small Forward

Danilo Gallinari – Denver Nuggets – Gallinari has performed quite well since returning from injury. In the three games since returning, Gallo has played a minimum of 35 minutes and has produced no less than 32 fantasy points. A road matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies will keep the ownership levels extremely low, making him a solid GPP target. Gallinari is basically the only guy in the Nuggets rotation right now that you can trust for steady playing time.

Others to consider: Kevin Durant, Andrew Wiggins

Power Forward

Zach Randolph – Memphis Grizzlies – Randolph is a highly risky GPP option that I would only consider using if you’re playing a lot of different lineups. He is appealing tonight for a couple main reasons. First off, the matchup is phenomenal against the Denver Nuggets, who continue to struggle defending opposing big men. And secondly, Z-Bo flashed a 50 fantasy point game this week, and that means his upside is still present.

Others to consider: Draymond Green, Ryan Anderson

Center

Hassan Whiteside – Miami Heat – Whiteside is one of my favorite GPP options on the slate. Although there has been some consistency as of late in terms of playing time, Erik Spoelstra has shown the propensity to randomly limit the minutes for Whiteside, which has left a sour taste in the mouth of fantasy owners. Tonight’s matchup with the weak interior defense of the Phoenix Suns is ideal for Whiteside’s skill set, however. Plus, after having a stinker of a performance last time out, he will have a low ownership level tonight.
