Fanduel Fades: December 19

Updated On: October 4, 2018, 4:04 pm ET

I’m going to give you some fades as these players either should not be in your lineup or tread carefully if you want them on your FanDuel squad. We will also be updating the goaltending matchups at the bottom of the column all season (up to the 7 pm start times for most lineups) so check the column and Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for the latest updates.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld’s Season Pass is now available for the low price of $19.99. You get plenty of extra articles including the minor league report, the junior report and much, much more. Buy it now!

Carter Hutton G (St. Louis) - $7,700

Hutton gets a rare start as the Blues are on the front-end of back-to-back games. The netminder has a .889 save percentage with a 2-4-1 record and a 2.92 GAA. It’s been a while since Connor McDavid and the Oilers have broken out so this could be a good spot to look elsewhere for your netminder.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson D (Arizona) - $6,100

A noted goal scorer, OEL has found the back of the net only once since October 27, a span of 24 games. He had five goals in his first seven contests but this has been the longest slump in years as he is coming off back-to-back 20-plus goal seasons. He scored his lone goal on Thursday against Toronto so perhaps he is finding the range again but we wouldn’t count on it.

Shayne Gostisbehere D (Philadelphia) - $5,700

Gostisbehere has four goals and 16 points this season and was on a four game points streak before getting hurt on December 10 against Dallas. He has not had a point since and that has to be a bit of a concern as if he is playing through an injury, you do not want him in your daily lineup.

Robby Fabbri W (St. Louis) - $5,100

Fabbri sees plenty of time with Vladimir Tarasenko but he has only a couple of assists in his last four games and has not had a good fantasy stat sheet since he scored twice against New Jersey 10 days ago. He has eight goals and 18 points this season and is a streaky player (who isn’t) but currently he has not been finding the scoresheet too often.

Patrick Maroon W (Edmonton) - $4,800

The way to win FanDuel is cleaning up with your cheaper players. Maroon is less expensive but has had most of his success playing alongside Connor McDavid. Unless coach Todd McLellan changes things up, that is not the case tonight. Maroon has eight goals and 14 points this season but only one assist in his last six games. His overall stats may look appealing but they are skewed.

Henrik Zetterberg C (Detroit) - $6,300

Zetterberg has six goals and 21 points, the exact stats as Ryan Johansen, but Johansen has been scoring of late while Zetterberg has only one assist in six games. The veteran is nearing the end of his career and the Red Wings are not a good team at this time, so it must be tough for Zetterberg at this time. Look elsewhere.
