Tuesday night's Pickups of the Day
Dario Saric Sixers PF - Homie finally went off with 9-of-15 shots, three triples, 21 points, three boards, an assist and a steal. If he was dropped after his back-to-back five-point games, go get him and enjoy the show.
Marcus Morris Pistons F - He shouldn't be available anywhere, but I picked him up recently somehow. He had 22 points, four boards, a steal and two 3-pointers on Tuesday.
Kris Dunn Wolves PG - The new starting point guard (until Ricky Rubio is back) had 10 points, four rebounds, six dimes, five steals and two 3-pointers in the start tonight. He's an automatic pickup and is probably already gone.
Tyler Johnson Heat G - Had 22 points, four boards, two assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers. He's been solid all year and this one just solidifies must-own status for me.
Matt Barnes Kings F - He was hot coming in and started last night, but it may have been a one-game deal and he sucked, missing all seven shots, all five 3-pointers, but adding eight rebounds, two assists and a steal. He'll bounce back whether he's starting or not.
Dion Waiters Heat SG - Waiters has been starting while Josh Richardson is out and had 20 points, four boards, four assists, a steal, two blocks and a 3-pointer last night. He's been killing in threes, blocks and steals lately, which is all you really need to know.
Solomon Hill Pelicans SF - He had 18 points, six boards, four assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 36 minutes and a start. His previous scoring high was five points, so this one looks pretty fluky.
Trey Lyles Jazz PF - Derrick Favors is still pretty hobbled and limited and Boris Diaw is really, really old. Lyles had 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two 3-pointers. If Favors suffers a setback, Lyles would become must-own.
Larry Nance Lakers PF - Nance had 11 points, five boards, one assist, six steals and a block in 30 minutes last night. Timofey Mozgov went down and cleared the way for Nance to get some run and he probably earned more minutes with this line, whether Mozzy is healthy or not.
Tony Snell Bucks SF - Started again and and had 13 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers. We've seen him tease with the Bulls in past, so I'm not fully buying in. Color me intrigued.
Hollis Thompson Sixers F - He went crazy on 8-of-10 shooting with four 3-pointers, 22 points, seven boards and a block. The key here is that Robert Covington had his second straight scoreless game and is 0-for-11 in those games. I still think Covington is the guy you want to own here, but if he does happen to lose his job to Thompson, I'm not sure you have a choice but to make the move.
