Hassan Whiteside C Heat – Whiteside started for Chris Andersen (elbow, back) and didn’t block a single shot on Tuesday. However, he did have 16 points and 16 rebounds, and should be the hottest pickup in fantasy hoops right now. Whiteside is finally up to being owned in 61 percent of Yahoo! leagues, but that means he’s still somehow available in 39 percent of them.
Jordan Clarkson PG Lakers – He started again on Tuesday and finally broke out with 18 points, three boards, three assists, a steal and a 3-pointer. He hit 8-of-18 shots and played a team-high 37 minutes. Jeremy Lin came off the bench for seven points, eight assists and a 3-pointer on 1-of-5 shooting in 23 minutes, but Clarkson is going to be a very popular pickup over the next 24 hours, and rightfully so.
Wayne Ellington SG Lakers – I’ve been hyping Ellington for some time now after predicting that Kobe Bryant wouldn’t make it through the season, and he finally lived up to the hype. He had 28 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and three 3-pointers on 12-of-20 shooting in a whopping 36 minutes on Tuesday. It’s time to grab him.
Mario Chalmers G Heat – Chalmers is heating up and Dwyane Wade left Tuesday’s game with a hamstring injury. Mario C came through with 21 points, two rebounds, eight assists, a block and a 3-pointer on 6-of-9 shooting. We’ve seen Chalmers go nuts when Wade is out, but he was playing well enough to grab even before last night’s injury.
George Hill PG Pacers – Hill played 20 minutes on Tuesday and had 13 points, two rebounds, three assists, a steal and two 3-pointers. He hit just 5-of-14 shots, the minutes are a concern and his next injury could be just around the corner, but I still think he’s worth grabbing if you need a point guard and he was dropped in your league.
David Lee PF Warriors – Lee blew up for his best game of the season with 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists on 10-of-17 shooting in 30 minutes. He doesn’t block shots and isn’t among the most talented players on his team these days, but he should have at least grabbed your attention after this game.
Kris Humphries PF Wizards – Humps had eight points and 11 boards in 26 minutes on Tuesday and remains relevant if you need a big man. Just expect some ups and downs if you roll with him.
Nikola Mirotic F Bulls – Mirotic played 31 minutes and finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and two 3-pointers on 3-of-6 shooting in 31 minutes. The fact this happened with Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson all healthy and in the lineup. Yes, Jimmy Butler was out with an illness, but the 31 minutes were a bit of an eye-opener.
Jared Dudley G/F Bucks – Ersan Ilyasova left Tuesday’s night with a groin injury (shocking, right?) and Dudley started the second half to finish with 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer. Khris Middleton (17 points, three 3-pointers) is still the guy you want to own here.
Danny Granger G/F Heat – Granger started for Luol Deng (calf) on Tuesday and had 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal and three 3-pointers in a whopping 36 minutes. Not only was Deng out, but Dwyane Wade left with a hamstring injury. If both players remain out, Granger, along with Chalmers, is going to get some nice run as long as he can stay healthy.
Beno Udrih PG Grizzlies – Mike Conley was out with a wrist injury and Udrih was a bit disappointing, finishing with just eight points, two rebounds and five assists on 4-of-6 shooting in 21 minutes. Obviously, once Conley is back, Udrih won’t be worth a look.
Otto Porter Jr. SF Wizards – Paul Pierce was out with a toe injury so Porter started in his place and hit 5-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for 12 points, four rebounds and a steal on Tuesday. If Pierce continues to miss time, OPJ might be worth a short-term look, but is certainly not a must-add player.
Robert Sacre C Lakers – Sacre started for the Lakers on Tuesday and had six points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 29 minutes. Sacre has been making a little noise over his last three games and is worth keeping an eye on, unless you’re in a 20-team league. If that’s the case, you might want to grab him.
