Amadio has been scorching hot

Dylan Strome generated three goals and four points in three outings last week. The AHL rookie ranks fourth in league scoring with 39 points in 26 games for Tucson. The third overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has only one goal in 11 contests with the Arizona Coyotes this campaign. Andrey Pedan of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins was the AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 14 after he produced three goals and two assists in two games. The 24-year-old blueliner has 16 points in 32 contests this season. Michael Amadio extended his point streak to 17 games before he was called up by Los Angeles. He accounted for two goals and three helpers last week as part of his scoring spree. Amadio, who was taken in the third round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft with the 90th overall pick, has 34 points in 30 matches this year for the Ontario Reign. Kasperi Kapanen tallied two goals and added an assist in two appearances. He has a five-game point streak going into this week’s action and 21 points through 24 contests.

Philadelphia Flyers prospect Tanner Laczynski recorded one goal and four assists in series split versus Penn State. The Ohio State University sophomore ranks second in the nation in scoring with 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) in 24 games. Laczynski was selected in the sixth round (169th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft. David Pope racked up seven points in two victories over Miami. He accounted for five points, including four helpers, in an 11-7 triumph. Pope, who has 31 points in 22 outings this campaign during his senior year, was a fourth-round choice of the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. His University of Nebraska-Omaha teammate Jake Randolph notched three goals and three assists in two games. His best performance came in an 11-7 victory over Miami when he accounted for four points (two goals, two assists). The 23-year-old has 18 points, including 13 helpers, in 20 games during his senior season. Air Force Academy netminder Billy Christopoulos turned aside 55 of 56 shots in two victories over RIT last weekend. He also posted his first career shutout. The 23-year-old junior has gone 11-10-3 this season with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.




Patrik Virta has produced 28 points in 41 games for TPS this campaign. The 21-year-old forward had one goal in two outings last week. Virta was selected by the New York Rangers in the 2017 NHL Draft with the 207th overall pick. Winnipeg Jets first-round draft choice Kristian Vesalainen has 11 goals and 27 points in 30 contests with HPK in 2017-18. He posted two goals and four helpers in three appearances last week following his return from the World Junior Championship. Vesalainen produced six points in five games at the tournament for Finland. The 18-year-old winger was the 24th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Jesperi Kotkaniemi, who is eligible for the 2018 NHL Draft, didn’t earn a point in three matches last week, but he collected a goal and an assist earlier this week to give him 20 points in 43 games for Assat. Minnesota Wild prospect Kaapo Kahkonen has been superb in Finland’s top league this year. He has a 17-15-8 record with a 1.94 goals-against average and .930 save percentage in 41 games with Lukko. Kahkonen won two of his three starts last week. The 21-year-old was a fourth-round pick (109th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft.
