Ehlers nears 100-point mark

Western Hockey League

 

Mack Shields has won back-to-back contests by allowing the competition to just two goals in each of those starts.  He has a 2.67 GAA and .900 save percentage in 49 games with the Calgary Hitmen.  Carter Hart has a 1.76 GAA in March, lowering his season GAA to 2.24.  He also has a .918 save percentage in 28 contests this season.  His teammate Connor Rankin has recorded at least a point in six of his seven contests this month.  He has 32 goals and 79 points in 70 contests.  Nicolas Petan is riding an 11-game point streak after scoring a goal and an assist on Wednesday.  He has 14 goals and 88 points in 51 contests with the Portland Winterhawks.

 

Ontario Hockey League

 

Connor McDavid was held off the scoresheet for just the second time all season on March 11 and even that didn't involve into an actual slump.  McDavid followed up that contest with back-to-back three-point games.  He now has 43 goals and 115 points in just 45 contests in 2014-15.  Detroit Red Wings prospect Tyler Bertuzzi is on a three-game point streak.  He has 43 goals and 94 points in 66 contests with the Guelph Storm.  Cole Cassels has scored four goals and four assists in his last four games.  The 19-year-old forward, who was taken by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, has 30 goals, 51 assists, and 100 penalty minutes in 53 games in 2014-15.  Max Domi has recorded at least a point in four of his last five contests.  After recording 87 points in 2012-13 and 93 points in 2013-14, he's just one point away from reaching the century mark for the first time in his career.

 

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

 

Philippe Desrosiers turned aside 24 shots to earn his fifth shutout of the season on Wednesday.  He now has a 2.45 GAA and .903 save percentage in 42 games with Rimouski Oceanic in 2014-15.  The Dallas Stars took him in the second round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.  Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Adam Erne is on a three-game point streak and has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last six games.  He has 40 goals and 84 points in 58 games with the Quebec Remparts this season.  Nikolaj Ehlers had two goals and two assists on Saturday to extend his point streak to six contests.  Ehlers, who was taken with the ninth overall pick by Winnipeg in the 2014 draft, now has 37 goals and 99 points in just 48 games.  Anthony Beauvillier saw his five-game point streak come to an end on Wednesday.  He's gone from recording 33 points in 64 games as a rookie last season to 42 goals and 93 points in 66 contests with the Shawinigan Cataractes in 2014-15.
