Yanni Gourde was never drafted and spent a good chunk of the 2013-14 campaign in the ECHL, but he's taken a big step up this season.  The 23-year-old forward has found the back of the net in six of his last eight games, giving him 22 goals and 44 points in 58 contests with the Syracuse Crunch.  Shane Prince is on a three-game point streak, giving him 18 goals and 46 points in 55 contests with the Binghamton Senators.  Prince, 22, was taken by Ottawa with the 61st overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.  He enjoyed a two-game stint with Ottawa in February and registered an assist in his NHL debut.  Brown has 17 goals and 48 points in 59 games in his rookie season with the Toronto Marlies.  The Maple Leafs took him in the sixth round of the 2012 draft.  Nick Cousins had a hat trick and an assist in Wednesday's game against the Marlies.  Cousins has 20 goals and 53 points in 58 contests with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in 2014-15.  The Philadelphia Flyers took him in the third round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Michael Bitzer stopped 23 of 25 shots in a 5-2 victory over Minnesota State on March 6.  Bitzer has allowed two or fewer goals in 13 straight contests and now has a 1.76 GAA and .932 save percentage in 26 games with Bemidji State University in 2014-15.  Minnesota's Matt Leitner played against Bitzer in that game and assisted on both of the goals.  Leitner is on a four-game point streak, giving him seven goals and 37 points in 35 contests this season.  Jamie Phillips earned back-to-back wins over Northern Michigan last weekend, turning aside a combined 40 of 42 shots in those games.  Phillips, who was taken with the 190th overall pick by the Winnipeg Jets in 2012, has a 1.76 GAA and .935 save percentage in 36 contests.  Trevor Moore is on an eight-game point streak with the University of Denver.  The sophomore forward has 19 goals and 20 assists in 33 games this season.

Europe

Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League has several prospects worthy of note.  Max Gortz has 14 goals and 28 points in 53 games with Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League.  He was taken with the 172nd overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators.  Teammate Erik Gustafsson recorded 29 points in 55 games, up from 20 points in 50 contests in 2013-14.  The 22-year-old defenseman was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round of the 2012 draft.  Andreas Johnson has 22 goals and 35 points in 55 games with Frolunda this season.  He was taken by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the seventh round of the 2013 draft.  Marcus Sorensen has 17 goals and 32 points in 50 contests with Sweden's Djurgardens IF.  The Ottawa Senators drafted Sorensen, 22, in 2010, but he hasn't played in North America yet.
