Here is the May edition of my rest-of-season position rankings and overall top 300 for 5x5 leagues. As you might have noticed, the weekly Strike Zone is off the menu for load management reasons this year. However, I plan to continue to present monthly rankings updates in this spot.
As always, players are ranked by position and then combined into an overall top 300 list.

- One of my biggest errors this spring was dropping Jorge Mateo some in the rankings. I didn’t think playing time would be an issue for him initially, but I was worried about Jordan Westburg or Joey Ortiz overtaking him at shortstop. Perhaps that still might happen later on if Mateo falls back into bad habits, but his start has been incredible; he’s striking out at half his career rate while showing substantially more power anyway. There’s still a lot to like about the Orioles’ prospects behind him, but it doesn’t seem worth worrying about at the moment.
