Carlos Rodón allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Yankees’ 4-2 victory over the Royals on Monday.
Rodón gave up five hits, walked none and struck out three to collect his ninth win of the year and lower his ERA to 2.93 in the process. The 31-year-old lefty hasn’t been the big-time strikeout artist from previous years, but he’s reinvented himself this season after a poor Yankees debut last year. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Red Sox on the road this weekend.

Cal Raleigh drove in a run and stole a base in a win over the Astros on Friday.
Raleigh roped a single in the ninth inning to score a run, and shortly after he stole his 11th base on the season. He’s now driven in 83 runs, and there’s a reason chance he’ll reach 40 homers — he’s at 38 now — and 100 RBI before the end of July. Sensational.
Alvarez looking 'more like himself' in Triple-A
Francisco Alvarez has found his bat in Triple-A after a "shocking," yet deserved demotion, and James Schiano details how the Mets catcher is looking "more like himself" after significant regression.
  • SEA Catcher #18
Mitch Garver homered while going 2-for-4 in a win over the Astros on Friday.
Garver bashed a solo homer off Bennett Sousa to give Seattle a 2-0 lead in the seventh inning. He’s homered just six times, but has been making more hard contact over the past few weeks. He just isn’t getting enough playing time to consider him in anything but two-catcher leagues.
  • SEA Left Fielder #56
Randy Arozarena homered and walked in a win Friday over the Astros.
This is getting crazy. That’s the 10th homer for Arozarena over his last 14 games, and it brings his total to 18 on the season. The outfielder has been streaky through the entirety of his career, but this is the best we’ve seen since his postseason heroics in the earlier portion of the decade. The question, of course, is just how much regression is coming for Arozarena over the last few weeks/months.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #60
Brandon Walter struck out seven while allowing just a run over six innings, but took a loss Friday against the Mariners.
Walter was outstanding, but Luis Castillo was just slightly better so it’s a hard-luck loss for the 28-year-old. The only run he allowed came on a long homer for Randy Arozarena, but that’s one more than Castillo allowed. Even in the loss, Walter impressed with his command, and the metrics suggest he’s been even better than his 3.66 ERA; although the same is still just 46 2/3 innings. He’s worth consideration against the Diamondbacks next week.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #58
Luis Castillo struck out seven over 6 2/3 scoreless frames in a win over the Astros on Friday to help the Mariners to a 6-1 win.
Castillo was sensational, as he usually is in the friendly confines of T-Mobile Park. He allowed just three hits — all singles — with two walks; just one after issuing a free pass to Isaac Paredes to begin the game. Castillo now has a 101/36 K/BB ratio in his 115 innings with an excellent 3.21 ERA. He’ll get another start at home next week against the Brewers.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #29
Trevor Megill didn’t allow a hit while firing a scoreless inning to get a save Friday against the Dodgers.
Megill didn’t strike anyone out, but he also didn’t walk anyone while needing just seven pitches to get through the outing. The 31-year-old has saved 22 games in 2025 with a very solid 2.34 ERA.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #31
Tyler Glasnow took a loss despite allowing just one run over six innings against the Brewers on Friday.
Glasnow allowed an RBI double to Caleb Durbin, and that was enough to qualify for a loss with Quinn Priester shutting out the Dodgers on Friday. It was still an impressive outing for the right-hander that saw him punch out six against one walk with 12 swings and misses generated. Glasnow has looked good in his first two starts since returning from the 60-day injured list, and should be able to keep up the good work against the Twins on Wednesday.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #46
Quinn Priester struck out 10 over six scoreless inning while picking up a win in a 2-0 victory for the Brewers on Friday over the Dodgers.
Priester’s breakout season continues, and if people haven’t taken him seriously yet, now’s the time. He allowed just three hits, and he didn’t issue a walk while reaching double-digit strikeouts for the second time in 2025. It’s worth noting that Priester was a Top 50 prospect at one point, but to say that he’s exceeded expectations in 2025 are a few so-so seasons in the minors — and majors — is quite the understatement. He’ll get to pitch in Seattle on Wednesday versus the Mariners.
  • MIL 2nd Baseman #21
Caleb Durbin hit a solo homer and doubled in another run in a win over the Dodgers on Friday.
Durbin was responsible for both runs for the Brew Crew, as he doubled in a run off Tyler Glasnow in the fifth, and then homered off Kirby Yates two innings later. The 25-year-old rookie has been excellent in July and now has his slash up to a respectable — if not awe-inspiring — .265/.350/.382 slash over 75 games.
  • ARI Shortstop #2
Geraldo Perdomo tripled and drove in two runs in a win over the Cardinals on Friday.
Both runs driven in came on a single in the second inning for Perdomo, and he’s now up to 67 on the 2025 campaign. The triple was his second of the season, and the pair of knocks help improve his slash to .268/.371/.420 over 355 at-bats.
