Guardians 1B prospect Ralphy Velazquez belted his eighth home run of the season on Saturday for Single-A Lynchburg.
Velazquez has been one of the biggest first-half breakout prospects in the fantasy landscape as he’s batting .269/.390/.463 with eight homers and five steals in 57 games for Single-A Lynchburg. More impressively, he’s walked 42 times and has just 56 strikeouts over 264 plate appearances. The 19-year-old phenom has transitioned from catcher to first base after being selected 23rd overall in the 2023 MLB Draft, which is going to raise the offensive threshold he’ll need to clear in order to be fantasy-relevant, but he’s been extremely impressive so far at such a young age.

Mike Trout hit a two-run homer in the Angels’ 5-2 win over the Rangers on Saturday.
'Continue to trust' Bichette after return to form
James Schiano unpacks Bo Bichette finally getting back to form over the last five games, explaining why both the New York Mets and fantasy managers can count on continued improvement from the seasoned veteran,
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #39
Kirby Yates worked a scoreless ninth to get a save Saturday against the Rangers.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #57
Walbert Ureña worked five innings while allowing just a run and picked up a win over the Rangers on Saturday.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #17
Nathan Eovaldi allowed three runs in seven innings while taking a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
  • AZ 2nd Baseman #4
Ketel Marte went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer to help the Diamondbacks to a 5-4 win over the Rockies on Saturday.
  • AZ Relief Pitcher #38
Paul Sewald worked a scoreless ninth inning to procure a save versus the Rockies on Saturday.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #24
Michael Lorenzen worked five innings and allowed five runs while taking a loss Monday versus the Diamondbacks.
  • AZ Starting Pitcher #23
Zac Gallen allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings to pick up a win over the Rockies on Saturday.
Gallen struck out six against two walks. He gave up a pair of runs in the fourth and another in the sixth in an otherwise solid — if unspectacular —outing for the right-hander. Gallen wasn’t quite as good as his six-inning, two-run effort Monday against the Giants, but there were some positive signs for the 30-year-old for most of the outing. The Mariners next for Gallen in Seattle on Friday.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #18
Nolan Schanuel left Saturday’s game because of left calf tightness.
Vaughn Grissom replaced him at first base against the Rangers. Consider Schanuel to be day-to-day. If this turns out to be something more significant and he needs to go on the IL, the Angels could promote Christian Moore.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #16
Nick Kurtz went 2-for-4 in a shutout loss for the Athletics to the Padres on Saturday.
Kurtz was responsible for 40 percent of the hits Saturday night for the A’s, but it wasn’t enough to keep the club from being shutout. The 23-year-old has bounced back nicely from his rough start to the season with a very respectable — respectable is probably an understatement — .286/.444/.489 slash.
