Mateo partially dislocated his left elbow last week and is going to be on the shelf until the very late stages of the regular season. The positive news here for the Orioles is that his season isn’t over and he could potentially return for the playoffs, if they get there. His extended absence creates an opportunity for Jackson Holliday at the keystone after Connor Norby was shipped to the Marlins at the trade deadline.

As Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News notes, Jung was expected to get a game off during this series, and it comes in the finale. He’ll rest with Ezequiel Duran getting the start at third against George Kirby and the Rangers.

Grichuk was slated to hit third and play left field, but instead he’ll retreat to the bench for reasons that have not been announced as of yet. With Grichuk out, Pavin Smith will get the start in left field and hit seventh.

It appears to just be a day of rest for Tatis Jr. as the Padres make their final push for a postseason berth. The 25-year-old will sit and David Peralta will get the start in right field.

Robertson comes off the 40-man roster to make room for Gustavo Campero. The right-hander was claimed by the Angels in August and didn’t appear in a game. The 26-year-old may have some interest on the waiver wire for a team looking to find a potential middle-inning option.

The retroactive means nothing because there aren’t enough days left in the season for Aldegheri to return before the season ends. Aldegheri made three starts at the highest level, and he registered a 4.85 ERA and 10 strikeouts in his 13 innings. The 22-year-old left-hander has a chance to win one of the final spots in the rotation in 2025.

Teodosio’s season is over. The outfielder appeared in five games while going 1-for-12 in his limited action. If healthy, Teodosio will compete for a bench spot with the Angels during spring training.

Kwan will miss a third straight game while dealing with body fatigue. The outfielder should still be considered day-to-day, but it’s a little concerning this has been more than a one-game absence.

Campero is yet another player for the Angels that has a chance to make his MLB debut. The speedy 26-year-old has hit 14 homers while stealing 33 bases for Triple-A Salt Lake in 2024. Despite those strong numbers, it wouldn’t be wise to add him to a fantasy roster for these final two weeks.

Fulmer is back after missing two weeks with inflammation in his pitching elbow. The 30-year-old was having his first real taste of MLB success, and if he gets a chance to start he’d be worth streaming consideration — depending on the matchup, of course.

Walston, 23, is back with the Diamondbacks moving on from Dylan Floro. The 23-year-old lefty has a chance to make a start with Arizona before the season ends, but more than likely comes up as a multi-inning reliever.
