Seranthony Domínguez coughed up a walk-off solo homer in the ninth inning on Wednesday in a loss to the Orioles.
Domínguez was called upon in a tie ballgame in the bottom of the ninth inning at Citi Field and served up a walk-off homer for the second time in the three-game series when he coughed up a game-winning blast to pinch-hitter Jesse Winker with one out in the frame. Not great. It’s unclear whether Orioles manager Brandon Hyde will consider alternatives in high-leverage spots moving forward, but it would be surprising to see veteran Craig Kimbrel get another look. It’s possible Yennier Cano, Cionel Pérez or Gregory Soto could factor into the mix if Domínguez’s struggles persist. We’ll see.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters after Wednesday’s win over the Athletics that Matt Sauer will start Thursday against the A’s.
Sauer will be capable of working multiple innings, but the 26-year-old won’t be able to go deep enough to qualify for a victory unless the Athletics are incredibly aggressive against the right-hander. He won’t be a quality streaming option for Thursday’s bullpen game against the Athletics.
Don't expect Baez's hot streak to be long-term
Eric Samulski explains why fantasy managers should ride the Javier Baez hot streak but not rely on the Detroit Tigers center fielder for long-term results throughout the season.
  • LAD Designated Hitter #17
Shohei Ohtani hit a leadoff homer and went 2-for-4 in a win over the Athletics on Wedneday.
Ohtani hit a no-doubter to lead off the game for the Dodgers and it bumps his homer total to 13. He’s been remarkably — and surprisingly — good in the month of May, and he’s now slashing .341/.442/.818 over those 48 at-bats in that timeframe. There’s a long way to go, but a back-to-back MVP season is well within reason, even if he doesn’t return to the mound in 2025.
  • LAD Center Fielder #44
Andy Pages went 3-for-4 with a homer in a win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
The Dodgers have so many quality players it’s easy to lose track of a player like Pages, who is having a strong first quarter of the season himself. The three hits and a walk along with his seventh homer of the season now have him slashing .291/.346/.486, and he’s driven in 21 runs even while usually hitting closer to the bottom of the lineup than the top of it. There’s a reason Pages was considered a top prospect before joining the Dodgers’ outfield, and he’s played like it and then some in 2025.
  • LAD 3rd Baseman #13
Max Muncy hit a three-run homer in a win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
The Dodgers have been excellent in 2025 because of course they have, but Muncy has not exactly been one of the key contributors for Los Angeles over the first six-plus weeks. He did come up with his second homer of the season with his three-run shot Tyler Ferguson, but he’s still slashing an unplayable .190/.310/.305 over 40 games. Just keep in mind that if you do pick up Muncy on the waiver wire, those numbers don’t come with you, and few hitters are more due for some positive regression.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #21
Tyler Soderstrom went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Soderstrom is now in double digits in homers, as his 10th came in the third inning off an otherwise solid Yoshinobu Yamamoto with a runner on. He’s also driven in 29 over the A’s first 43 games of 2025, giving him a great chance at his first 100-RBI season. The future seems very bright for Soderstrom, and this version is pretty good, too.
  • LAD 2nd Baseman #6
Hyeseong Kim went 2-for-2 with a homer to help the Dodgers to a 9-3 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
Kim’s homer was the first of his MLB career. The 26-year-old also singled, and he’s now 9-for-25 (.360) to begin this career with a .480 slugging percentage. He’s added two stolen bases, and while Kim has not been an everyday option, he’s at least shown in this small sample that there’s a chance for fantasy fireworks if/when he earns a regular role.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #53
Gunnar Hoglund was charged for four runs in 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Hoglund gave up seven hits, but the biggest issue is that three of those hits went over the fence, including a leadoff homer by Shohei Ohtani. He walked three, and the 25-year-old rookie just didn’t have anywhere close to his best command against a team you need to have it. He’ll get an easier matchup next week with a scheduled bout against the Angels on Monday.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #18
Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed three runs in six innings while picking up a win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
Yamamoto allowed four hits and two walks while striking out six. The win is the fifth of the season for the 26-year-old, and it’s come with a 2.12 ERA over his eight starts. This was just the second start of the season where Yamamoto has allowed more than three runs, and he’ll get a chance to keep the good run going in a tougher matchup Monday against the Diamondbacks.
  • LAA Right Fielder #3
Taylor Ward hit a solo homer in a loss Wednesday to the Padres.
Ward was responsible for the only run off Randy Vásquez and the San Diego pitching staff in yet another loss for the Angels. He’s gone deep 10 times in 2025, and two of those have come in his last three games. Ward will turn 32 this December, and assuming the Angels are out of playoff contention — and they will be — it’s pretty easy to picture him wearing a different uniform by the time August rolls around.
  • SD 3rd Baseman #13
Manny Machado went 2-for-2 and scored twice in a victory Wednesday over the Angels.
Machado also drew a pair of walks for a four-reach game for the 32-year-old. He’s been outstanding in 2025 with .340/.410/.490 slash, and he’s forged a robust 1.203 OPS for the month of May. Machado will have some regression, but everything that the third baseman has shown thus far in 2025 suggests he’s going to be one of the best options at the hot corner this summer. Again.
