Rotoworld

  • MIN 2nd Baseman #15

Luke Keaschall is at second base and batting second on Saturday against the Braves.
Keaschall will make his first appearance in the field after going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base at DH on Friday in his major-league debut. The 22-year-old second baseman was Rotoworld’s 32nd-ranked dynasty prospect entering the year and has done nothing but hit throughout every stop of his professional career. He hasn’t shown any signs of rust with the bat since returning from last August’s Tommy John procedure. The above-average hit tool and power/speed combo upside make him an appealing fantasy option, even in shallow mixed leagues.

Tyler Mahle has been limited by illness, but he’s expected to face hitters this weekend.
It puts Mahle a little behind, but there’s plenty of time to catch up. The Giants gave the right-hander a one-year, $10 million contract at the beginning of January with the expectation being that he’ll pitch in the middle of the San Francisco rotation in 2026.
Kurtz, Soderstrom are top 1B options in fantasy
Eric Samulski and James Schiano reveal the best first basemen in fantasy baseball in 2026, questioning if Nick Kurtz can duplicate his impressive rookie campaign and sharing why Tyler Soderstrom is an enticing sleeper.
  • INT Left Fielder #11
Jake Cave signed a one-year deal with the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos in the Mexican League.
Cave spent the 2025 season with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization. The 33-year-old has 523 MLB games to his record with a career slash of .232/.292/.400.
  • COL Pitcher #49
Antonio Senzatela went two innings and allowed one run in a Cactus League start against the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Senzatela allowed three hits, with one of those being a solo bomb from Nolan Arenado. Senzatela was one of the worst fantasy starters in baseball last year, and when you consider a wide variety of factors, there’s little reason to think that won’t be true again in 2026.
  • KC Pitcher #32
Stephen Kolek gave up a run while working two innings Friday in his Cactus League start against the Rangers.
Kolek allowed three hits, issued a walk and struck out two before exiting in the Cactus League opener. The 28-year-old is battling for one of the final spots in the Kansas City rotation, but could be a multi-inning bullpen option if he doesn’t win one.
  • TEX Pitcher #17
Nathan Eovaldi allowed three runs in two innings in his Cactus League debut against the Royals on Friday.
Eovaldi allowed all three runs on homers. He gave up a solo blast to Salvador Perez, and a two-run shot to Michael Massey. The stats obviously don’t mean much — if anything — and fantasy managers shouldn’t forget how good Eovaldi was in 2025 with a 1.73 ERA and 129/21 K/BB over his 130 innings.
  • SD Starting Pitcher
Jagger Haynes allowed two runs in two innings in a Cactus League start Friday against the Mariners.
Both runs came on a homer from Michael Arroyo. Haynes, 23, should open the year with Triple-A El Paso, but he projects as an up-and-down arm at this stage of his career.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #34
Dane Dunning allowed no runs over 1 2/3 innings in his Cactus League start against the Padres on Friday.
Dunning did issue a pair of walks, but allowed just a hit and picked up a strikeout before exiting. The 31-year-old is with the Mariners on a minor-league contract and will be a depth piece behind Seattle’s impressive five-man rotation to open 2026.
  • BAL Pitcher #74
Orioles placed RHP Félix Bautista on the 60-day injured list.
This move was inevitable, as the 30-year-old hurler is expected to miss most of the 2026 season while recovering from shoulder surgery. It was done now though to free up a spot on the O’s 40-man roster for the addition of Bryan Ramos.
  • BOS Outfield #7
Masataka Yoshida doubled, walked and scored twice as the Red Sox routed Northeastern University 18-3 on Friday.
Those were Yoshida’s only two plate appearances before he was lifted. The Red Sox would surely still like to find a taker for Yoshida, who is owed $36 million over the next two years, but he could still contribute as a DH if any of the team’s top four outfielders get hurt. While his .282/.337/.425 line in three years as a major leaguer isn’t quite what the Red Sox were hoping for when they signed him, it still amounts to a 109 OPS+.
  • BAL 1st Baseman #25
Pete Alonso hit a two-run homer in his third at-bat Friday to account for all of the scoring as the Orioles topped the Yankees 2-0.
Every other Orioles regular came out after two at-bats, but Alonso pushed for a third after a groundout and a lineout. He got it and hit his first homer in an Orioles uniform, taking Bradley Hanner out to left. The Orioles had Alonso hitting second behind Gunnar Henderson in today’s lineup, and one wonders if that might be the Opening Day combo with probable leadoff man Jackson Holliday and frequent No. 2 hitter Jordan Westburg sidelined. Hitting second would be a little different for Alonso, but he has started there 133 times in his career. 70 of those games came in his rookie season in 2019.
