The 31-year-old southpaw allowed just three hits and a pair of walks on the evening. The Mets scratched out a run against him in the second inning on a two-out RBI single by Jeff McNeil. They added another in the fifth as McNeil scampered home on a wild pitch with two outs and Juan Soto at the dish. Fried generated 11 swings and misses on 102 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 23 percent. Still 6-0 on the season, Fried sports a brilliant 1.29 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and a 60/15 K/BB ratio over 62 2/3 innings through his first 10 starts with the Yankees. He’ll look to get back in the win column when he squares off against the Rockies at Coors Field on Saturday.

The Rockies were down 7-3 when Estrada hit a two-run double in the seventh. He also doubled to help fuel the three-run rally in the ninth before Orlando Arcia won the game with a single. Estrada is batting .261 with five doubles and seven RBI in 11 games since coming off the IL and making his Rockies debut. However, he’s without a homer or a walk, so that .261 average amounts to a .641 OPS. More importantly for fantasy leaguers, he’s 0-for-1 stealing bases, and he’s going to need to be a real factor in that category if he’s going to amass mixed-league value.

Senzatela walked three and threw two wild pitches, which is kind of notable from someone who had thrown a total of 11 in 754 career innings coming into the day. He left down five runs in the fifth, but he avoided falling to 1-11 because of a big comeback that might well go down as the highlight of the Rockies’ season. He’ll face the Nationals next.

Birdsong totaled 16 missed swings and six strikeouts in the 104-pitch outing. It’s the first time he’s gone six innings since moving into the rotation last month, and he appeared set to pick up his third win in five starts before the Giants pen blew a four-run lead. Birdsong has a 3.24 ERA and a 26/9 K/BB through 25 innings as a starter. He’ll face the Guardians next week.

Rodríguez was closing today because Camilo Doval threw 48 pitches the last two days. but he proved wild, and just when it looked like he might get out of it anyway, Casey Schmitt booted a hard grounder to third for an error. Orlando Arcia then won the game with a single on Rodríguez’s 43rd pitch of the inning. Rodríguez will definitely need at least one day off after this, but Doval should be ready to close Friday.

All three hits came off Antonio Senzatela, with the last being the homer that knocked Senzatela out of the game. It was Smith’s first homer in eight games since joining the Giants. He’s 8-for-25 with seven RBI so far, but he’s not someone who should be rostered in mixed leagues, at least outside of series at Coors Field.

When he was injured, the M’s were hopeful that Robles could be ready to return at some point in mid-July, but that appears to have been optimistic. The 28-year-old outfielder has been rehabbing at the team’s spring training complex in Peoria. He just got his arm out of a sling two weeks ago and is still working on his range of motion and strengthening exercises. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues that are holding out hope for a return may want to cut bait and better utilize that roster spot.

The 27-year-old infielder was pulled from Thursday’s game due to left groin tightness and while he is feeling better and took ground balls on Thursday, the Yankees wanted to give him an extra day just to be on the safe side. He could be available off the bench and is expected to return to the Bombers’ starting lineup on Friday.

Yelich sat out each of the team’s last two games due to renewed swelling in his right wrist after he was hit by a pitch during the team’s last road trip. He’s feeling much improved after a couple of nights off though and is back in there as the club’s designated hitter against Cardinals’ right-hander Sonny Gray. On the season, the dynamic 33-year-old outfielder is hitting .233/.320/.417 with 13 homers, 41 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

The 28-year-old infielder had been designated for assignment earlier in the week, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and has accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A. Rivera slashed a meager .232/.303/.275 with zero homers, three RBI and a 12/6 K/BB ratio in his 76 plate appearances with the O’s.

He’ll take the place of the recently demoted Brent Headrick in the Yankees’ bullpen. Effross, 31, has made nine appearances in the minor leagues this season, posting an uninspiring 9.00 ERA, 2.20 WHIP and a 14/3 K/BB ratio in 10 innings of work. Expect him to be utilized in a middle relief role.
