Marlins placed LHP Ryan Weathers on the 60-day injured list with a left lat strain.
Ugh. Weathers will be on the shelf until at least early August after being diagnosed with a left lat strain. The 25-year-old southpaw experienced diminished velocity during Saturday’s start against the Rays and is facing a lengthy absence. Shoulder issues are obviously a major concern for any pitcher and there’s very little margin for any setbacks during his rehabilitation process. Fantasy managers in shallow mixed leagues are probably safe to cut bait at this juncture. It’s yet another reminder to exercise caution with starting pitchers that add significant offseason velocity.

Steven Kwan drove in a run while going 3-for-5 in a win over the Athletics on Saturday.
Kwan doubled twice and singled in the victory. The 27-year-old has struggled for most of June, but this is his second three-hit effort in the last three games to push his average to .305 with a .796 OPS, six homers and 10 stolen bases.
What's next for demoted Red Sox prospect Campbell?
A tough couple months prompted a demotion for Red Sox prospect Kristian Campbell, but James Schiano remains confident he'll find his way in Boston -- and for fantasy managers.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #48
Emmanuel Clase hurled a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Athletics on Saturday.
Clase didn’t allow a hit, didn’t strike anyone out, and didn’t issue a walk. Boring, but effective. Clase has now saved 17 games in 2025, and his ERA dipped to 3.58 with the scoreless outing.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #28
Mitch Spence was credited with a loss while giving up four runs over 4 2/3 innings against the Guardians on Friday.
Spence gave up eight hits in the contest, and he walked one while striking out three. All four runs scored in the second inning, and the middling — at best — start saw Spence’s ERA rise to 3.84. It wasn’t a disastrous start for the 27-year-old, but a far cry from an effective one. He has a tough matchup on paper Friday against the Yankees in New York.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #45
Luis Ortiz struck out 10 over six innings of scoreless baseball to pick up a win in the Guardians’ 4-2 victory over the Athletics on Saturday.
Ortiz gave up just two hits, and both were singles. The 26-year-old was outstanding Saturday, and he generated an impressive 14 swings-and-misses among his 92 pitches. It’s a marked improvement from the six-run effort he put together against the Mariners on Sunday, and it improves his ERA to a still-shaky 4.30 over 80 2/3 innings. Ortiz will look to build on this effort against the Cardinals on Friday in St. Louis.
  • WSH Shortstop #5
CJ Abrams hit a two-run homer in a win over the Dodgers on Saturday for the Nationals.
Abrams hit his second homer of the series, and this one was a two-run shot off Jack Dreyer in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old has gone deep three tims in the month of June, and he’s forged an OPS of .810 in the month of June.
  • LAD Center Fielder #44
Andy Pages hit a solo homer Saturday in a loss for the Dodgers to the Nationals.
Pages got the Nats on the board with a solo homer in the fifth inning off Jake Irvin. The 24-year-old has gone deep 16 times, and he’s now hitting .292 with an .847 OPS. He isn’t getting nearly enough attention for how good he’s been in 2025, although fantasy managers who have rostered him this season are well familiar.
  • WSH Left Fielder #29
James Wood hit a solo homer and drew a walk Saturday in a win over the Dodgers.
Wood is now up to 21 homers in 2025, and this one came off Dustin May in the fourth inning; one of three homers the Nats were able to hit off May and one of five total in the contest. The 22-year-old has been sensational in his first full year of action with an OPS of .935, and it’s scary to think he hasn’t likely reached is full potential just yet.
  • WSH 1st Baseman #33
Nathaniel Lowe homered twice while helping the Nationals to a 7-3 win over the Dodgers on Saturday.
Lowe accounted for two of the five homers that the Nationals hit Saturday, and he’s now up to a dozen roundtrippers on the season. The 29-year-old has been shaky at best in his first — possibly last — season with Washington, and is still slashing a tough-to-justify from a fantasy perspective .228/.295/.393 over 285 at-bats. That being said, Lowe has been a streaky player for most of his career, and maybe this is a jump start to one of those hot runs.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #85
Dustin May gave up three runs over six innings while picking up a loss to the Nationals on Saturday.
May gave up all three homers on a night where the ball was jumping as the two clubs combined for eight roundtrippers. The right-hander walked a pair while striking out five in a solid — but far from excellent — outing. May has forged a 5.29 ERA in the month of June, and he’ll try and lower that figure Friday when he squares off against the Royals.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #27
Jake Irvin held the Dodgers to just two runs over 5 1/3 innings while striking out seven while picking up a win Saturday for the Nationals.
Irvin didn’t issue a walk while allowing six hits, and he threw 58-of-92 pitches for strikes. The 28-year-old gave up both runs on solo homers, and was able to eliminate the mini-jams he faced against one of the best lineups in baseball. He’s now up to six wins on the season against three losses with a 4.18 ERA. Could be worse. Irvin will get the Angels on Friday in Los Angeles.
