Pirates activated RHP Dauri Moreta from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Moreta, who is coming back from Tommy John, had a 3.07 ERA in 14 2/3 innings for Indianapolis on his rehab assignment, but he walked 12 batters. His velocity is also still down a tad. He’ll probably be back in the Pirates pen before long, but the team wasn’t ready to carry him just yet.

Reds RHP Tejay Antone elected free agency.
There’s an alternate reality where Antone stays healthy and blossoms into one of the premier high-leverage arms in the game. Unfortunately, the 31-year-old’s promising career has been derailed by an avalanche of elbow issues since undergoing Tommy John surgery back in 2021. Simply put, his fastball velocity hasn’t rebounded following multiple elbow procedures. There’s likely to be an organization out there willing to kick the tires in spring training as a low-risk dice roll after he became a minor league free agent earlier this week.
Kershaw: 'I'm just glad I got that last out'
Clayton Kershaw talks about how happy he was to end his career with a World Series win, if he was nervous pitching in relief during Game 3, what his retirement plans are, if he considered playing another year and more.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #65
Dodgers RHP Giovanny Gallegos elected free agency.
Gallegos never made it to Los Angeles this past season after latching on as a minor league free agent and his fastball velocity hasn’t bounced back since dealing with shoulder issues during the 2024 campaign. The 34-year-old former high-leverage reliever could wind up getting a look somewhere this offseason after becoming a minor league free agent earlier this week.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #34
Braves RHP Ian Anderson elected free agency.
Anderson was one of the higher-profile names to hit minor league free agency on Friday as he is just a couple seasons removed from a spectacular 52-start run with the Braves where he posted a 3.97 ERA across 272 1/3 innings from 2020-2022. The 27-year-old former top pitching prospect’s stuff simply hasn’t rebounded after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023. He posted a calamitous 11.57 ERA across 9 1/3 innings over seven appearances for the Angels this past season.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #83
Marlins RHPs Valente Bellozo, Freddy Tarnok, Jesús Tinoco, Tyler Zuber and Christian Roa elected free agency.
Bellozo was one of five pitchers jettisoned from Miami’s 40-man roster earlier this week. The 25-year-old right-hander doesn’t miss a ton of bats, but he shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a new opportunity as an innings-eating swingman somewhere this offseason after compiling a serviceable 4.20 ERA across 150 innings over 45 appearances (19 starts) in the big leagues over the past two seasons.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #83
Orioles designated RHP Carson Ragsdale for assignment.
Ragsdale’s removal from Baltimore’s 40-man roster at the outset of the offseason isn’t a total shock after he was lit up in a pair of late-season relief appearances. The 27-year-old former pitching prospect could attract some interest on waivers.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Aaron Judge was among the winners of the American League Silver Slugger Awards.
Judge takes home a silver slugger for the fifth time in his career. He joins Byron Buxton and Riley Greene in the outfield in taking home the award. The full list of winners: Cal Raleigh (C), Nick Kurtz (1B), Jazz Chisholm Jr. (2B), Bobby Witt Jr. (SS), José Ramírez (3B), Judge (OF), Buxton (OF) and Greene (OF) and George Springer (DH).
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #73
Adbert Alzolay (elbow) will pitch for Leones del Caracas during the winter ball season, according to his agent.
Alzolay missed the entirety of the 2025 season while recovering from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery. The 30-year-old signed a two-year minor league deal with the Mets, and assuming no setbacks this winter, he has a chance to help the New York bullpen — possibly in a high-leverage role — in 2026.
  • ATL Manager
The Braves announced that they have hired former Orioles’ interim manager Tony Mansolino to be their next third base coach.
Mansolino had been the third base coach for more than four seasons before taking over as their interim manager in May of 2025. The Braves also announced that J.P. Martinez will be the team’s next bullpen coach. Martinez spent the 2025 campaign as the Giants’ pitching coach after serving as an assistant pitching coach from 2021-2024. New Braves’ manager Walt Weiss has done a nice job assembling a well-rounded and experienced staff in relatively short order after being officially hired on Monday.
  • CWS Manager #25
The White Sox have hired Derek Shomon to be their next hitting coach.
Shomon spent the 2025 season with the Marlins as their assistant hitting coach. Prior to that, he spent two seasons in the same capacity with the Twins. Additionally, the White Sox announced that Sherman Johnson Jr. will be the team’s hitting coordinator while Joel McKeithan will return for a second season as an assistant hitting coach.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #62
Orioles RHP Shawn Dubin elected free agency.
Dubin was removed from the Orioles’ 40-man roster and sent outright to Triple-A Norfolk earlier this week. The 30-year-old right-hander struggled during his time with the Astros, but posted a solid 3.38 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 7/3 K/BB ratio over eight innings with the O’s to end the season. He’s now free to peddle his wares on the open market where 30 teams are looking for upgrades to their bullpens.
