Jacob Misiorowski was perfect for six before giving up a two-run homer in the seventh Friday in a victory over the Twins.
He struck out six. It was unclear whether Misiorowski would come back out for the seventh at 80 pitches, particularly after a long top of the inning in which the Brewers scored five runs. He did return, but not for long. Misiorowski walked Byron Buxton on four pitches to start the frame and then gave up a homer to Matt Wallner. In spite of the sour ending, it was a remarkable outing for Misiorowski, who had pitched 11 hitless innings as a big leaguer before the homer. He hit 100 mph on 29 of his 41 fastballs, topping out at 102.1 mph. If left on four days’ rest, he’ll make his next start Wednesday against the Pirates. However, it seems more likely that he’ll face the Rockies at home on Friday.

Mets selected the contract of RHP Kevin Herget from Triple-A Syracuse.
Herget receives the call to join New York’s bullpen mix ahead of Saturday’s contest against the Reds. The 34-year-old journeyman reliever has made two relief appearances this season in the majors between the Mets and Atlanta.
Alvarez looking 'more like himself' in Triple-A
Francisco Alvarez has found his bat in Triple-A after a "shocking," yet deserved demotion, and James Schiano details how the Mets catcher is looking "more like himself" after significant regression.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #82
Mets optioned LHP Brandon Waddell to Triple-A Syracuse.
Waddell heads back to the minors after throwing 76 pitches over 3 2/3 innings in relief during Friday’s second-half opener against the Reds. The 31-year-old lefty has posted a solid 4.00 ERA across 27 innings over a career-high 10 appearances this season for the Mets.
  • KC 1st Baseman #14
Jac Caglianone is on the bench for Saturday’s showdown against the Marlins.
Caglianone takes a seat against Marlins righty Cal Quantrill after 1-for-4 with a walk during Friday’s second-half opener. The 22-year-old top prospect obliterated the upper minors to earn an early-June call-up to the big leagues, but is hitting just .143/.203/.263 with four homers, seven RBI and one steal through 36 games. He’s clearly going through an adjustment period at the highest level and Kansas City seems committed to letting his play through his early-career struggles.
  • DET Shortstop
Tigers signed first-round pick SS Jordan Yost.
Yost winds up getting $3.25 million reasons to walk away from a commitment to Florida, which is a near full-slot deal for the 24th overall pick, which carried a $3.76 slot value. The 18-year-old prep shortstop was one of the bigger first-round surprises from the 2025 MLB Draft, but Detroit’s success during the Scott Harris era means this might be a worthwhile gamble. He’s several hyperspace jumps from the big leagues, but he’s a name dynasty managers should be watching as he kicks off his professional career.
  • CHC Outfield
Cubs signed first-round pick OF Ethan Conrad.
Conrad receives a $3.56 million signing bonus, which represents a well below-slot deal for the 17th overall pick, which carried a $4.75 million slot value. The 21-year-old outfielder is coming off shoulder surgery during his final collegiate season at Wake Forest, but offers an assortment of above-average offensive tools, which give him a chance to make an impact for fantasy purposes down the road.
  • BAL Shortstop
Orioles signed first-round pick SS Wehiwa Aloy.
It’s a full-slot deal for Aloy, who receives a $3.04 million signing bonus after being picked up by the Orioles with the 31st selection in the 2025 MLB Draft. The 21-year-old shortstop prospect won the 2025 Golden Spikes Award as the best amateur player in the country after wrapping up a standout collegiate career at Arkansas.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #75
Robert Gasser (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Gasser has a chance to make it back to Milwaukee’s pitching equation at some point in late August as he completes his lengthy rehabilitation process from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 26-year-old former pitching prospect looked sharp in five major-league starts last year before undergoing the season-ending procedure in late June. He’s unlikely to make a significant impact for fantasy purposes down the home stretch, but he’s a name to know for next spring.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #62
Yankees recalled RHP Allan Winans from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Winans will take the ball on Saturday for a spot start against Atlanta with the Yankees dealing with injuries to Max Fried (blister) and Cam Schlittler (bicep). The 29-year-old righty has allowed seven runs — six earned — over 6 1/3 innings (two appearances, one start) this season in the big leagues. He’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes.
  • TOR Center Fielder #38
Nathan Lukes is in center field and leading off again on Saturday against the Giants.
Lukes is hitting .343 (12-for-35) in 11 games since being moved to the leadoff spot in Toronto’s lineup back on July 3. The 31-year-old doesn’t offer a ton of intrigue for fantasy purposes since he’s unlikely to chip in more than a handful of homers and steals per season, but he’ll continue leading off against right-handed starters. The move puts him in position to score plenty of runs over the final two months of the season, which boosts his fantasy appeal in deep AL-only formats.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #56
    Braves released LHP Kolton Ingram.
Ingram was cut loose earlier this week afrer struggling to an inflated 5.68 ERA across 12 2/3 innings (10 appearances) this season in Atlanta’s system. The 28-year-old southpaw made five relief appearances for the Angels back in 2023. There’s likely an organization out there willing to roll the dice since he’s a lefty with big-league experience.
