Griffin Canning was pulled from Thursday’s start against the Braves in the third inning due to an apparent left leg injury.
Canning delivered a pitch to Nick Allen that resulted in a ground out to the shortstop, but he hopped off the mound and fell to the ground, clutching his leg. The training staff ultimately had to help support the right-hander as he hobbled off the field. He’ll head for testing to see exactly what’s going on there, but it didn’t look good. Look for the Mets to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available.
