Padres manager Mike Shildt told reports Xander Bogaerts (foot) could be activated for Tuesday’s game against the Brewers.

Bogaerts is on the precipice of returning to San Diego’s lineup after goint through an intensive pregame workout and taking on-field batting practice prior to Monday’s series opener at Petco Park. The 32-year-old veteran infielder has been out since late August with what was believed to be a season-ending fractured left foot. He’ll provide a massive lift for the Padres heading into the postseason.

Marlins optioned LHP Dax Fulton, RHPs Will Kempner and Josh White, INFs Deyvision De Los Santos and Jared Serna to Triple-A Jacksonville; Reassigned RHP Nigel Belgrave and INF Dylan Jasso to minor league camp.

We’re still early enough in camp that teams aren’t faced with difficult decisions just yet, so there are no surprises here. Fulton, 26, had a particularly brutal 2025 season, registering a 5.38 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and a 115/59 K/BB ratio over 103 2/3 innings between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville. He’ll continue to operate as extra pitching depth for the Fish.

Victor Robles (shoulder) returned to the Mariners’ Cactus League lineup on Sunday.

The 28-year-old outfielder has been sidelined for nearly a week due to soreness in his shoulder. He’ll serve as the designated hitter and bat leadoff against the Brewers on Sunday afternoon. As of now, there’s no reason to doubt that he’ll be ready for the start of the regular season.

Bryce Miller

SEA Starting Pitcher #50

Bryce Miller (side) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Sunday morning.

It’ll be a touch and feel session for the 27-year-old right-hander who was shut down last week following a PRP injection to help alleviate inflammation in his left side. Miller has been throwing off of flat ground the past few days without issue. He remains hopeful that he’ll be ready for the start of the regular season.

Riley Cornelio

WSH Starting Pitcher #74
Nationals optioned RHPs Riley Cornelio and Luis Perales to Triple-A Rochester; Reassigned INFs Orelvis Martinez and Sergio Alcantara, RHPs Bryce Montes de Oca and Tyler Baum and C Caleb Lomavita to minor league camp.

We’re now starting to see slightly larger batches of cuts around the league as teams start to trim down their rosters in advance of Opening Day. Cornelio, 25, looked sharp in his two Grapefruit League appearances, posting a 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and a 7/0 K/BB ratio across five innings of work. He should get an opportunity to debut with the Nationals at some point during the 2026 campaign.

Reed Trimble

BAL Left Fielder #62

Orioles optioned OF Reed Trimble to Triple-A Norfolk.

The 25-year-old outfielder was never a candidate to crack the team’s Opening Day roster, so this move doesn’t come as a surprise. He’ll open up the season as additional outfield depth for the O’s at the Triple-A level.

Jason Alexander

HOU Starting Pitcher #54
Astros optioned RHP Jason Alexander to Triple-A Sugar Land; Reassigned RHPs Sam Carlson and Alimber Santa to minor league camp.

With an option remaining, Alexander was always a longshot to make the Astros’ Opening Day roster. He didn’t help his cause in Grapefruit League action though, registering a 6.35 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and a 3/3 K/BB ratio over 5 2/3 innings in his three starts. He’ll get an opportunity with the Astros at some point during the 2026 campaign.

Gavin Lux

TB Left Fielder #11

Rays’ manager Kevin Cash said Sunday that Gavin Lux (upper body) is expected to make his Grapefruit League debut on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old infielder has been working his way through a vague upper body issue. He’s going to take live at-bats on the back fields on Sunday and as long as everything goes well with that session, he’ll be cleared to play on Tuesday. Barring any setbacks, he’ll be at second base for Opening Day.

Cedric Mullins

TB Center Fielder #31

Rays’ manager Kevin Cash told reporters on Sunday that Cedric Mullins (back) has shown much improvement and has resumed baseball activities.

It’s good to hear that the 31-year-old outfielder is back on the field, though it remains unclear when he’ll return to Grapefruit League action. As of now there’s no reason to expect that he won’t be ready for the start of the regular season.

Yandy Díaz

TB 1st Baseman #2

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Yandy Díaz has not played since Tuesday due to soreness in his left hand.

The soreness is a result of Díaz hitting a ball off the end of the bat. Rays’ skipper Kevin Cash said that the 34-year-old slugger is fine and that he’ll get a few more days off before returning to game action. As of now, it doesn’t sound like anything fantasy managers need to worry about, though it is a situation to monitor.

Robert Stock

NYM Relief Pitcher #78

Robert Stock told reporters on Sunday that he’ll undergo surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.

The 36-year-old right-hander suffered the injury while pitching for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic. It’s a tough blow for the veteran hurler, though he indicated optimism that he could return before the end of the 2026 campaign.
