Gavin Lux went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored on Friday night, helping to lead the Reds to a 3-1 victory over the Brewers to pull even with the Mets in the chase for the final Wild Card berth in the National League.
Lux led off the fourth inning with a double off of Quinn Priester and scored the Reds’ first run on an RBI knock off the bat of Spencer Steer. He then doubled to open the sixth inning and scored on Miguel Andujar’s RBI single. For the season, the 27-year-old is now slashing .269/.350/.375 with only five home runs, 53 RBI and one stolen base in 500 mostly empty plate appearances on the season.

LaMonte Wade made an early exit from Monday’s game against the Angels with an apparent leg injury.
Wade suffered an apparent injury while legging out a run-scoring double in the sixth inning and left the field with a trainer. He finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and one walk. The 32-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Astros last week and was playing in just his fourth game with the club. There should be an update on his status after the contest.
LAD 'don't have a reason' to rush Glasnow return
Eric Samulski reacts to Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow being moved to the 60-day IL with back spasms and offers advice for fantasy managers on how to manage his absence.
  • NYY Catcher #28
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Austin Wells (neck) underwent imaging on Monday that didn’t reveal any issues.
Wells underwent precautionary imaging after hitting the injured list with cervical headaches over the weekend. The 26-year-old backstop doesn’t have a definitive return timetable at the moment.
  • PHI Right Fielder #53
Adolis García blasted a two-run homer on Monday, propelling the Phillies to a 5-2 win over the Blue Jays.
García took Blue Jays starter Patrick Corbin deep in the second inning for his third round-tripper in his last five games. The 406-foot no-doubter to left-center field was his seventh big fly of the year. The 33-year-old slugger has shown some signs of life recently, but he’s pretty much a power-only fantasy contributor at this juncture of his career.
  • TOR 2nd Baseman #22
Ernie Clement went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.
Clement became the first non-Cubs player to take Phillies ace Cristopher Sánchez deep when he connected for a fifth-inning blast to left field. It was his seventh big fly of the season and second time he’s left the yard in three games. The unheralded 30-year-old is having a phenomenal season, hitting .309 through 66 games.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #59
Jhoan Duran fired a scoreless ninth inning on Monday against the Blue Jays to record his 16th save of the season.
Duran was brought on to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just nine pitches (eight strikes) to slam the door. He gave up a one-out double to Andrés Giménez, but managed to get pinch-hitter Jesús Sánchez and Brandon Valenzuela to ground out to end it. He’s converted all 16 of his save opportunities this season to go along with a microscopic 1.25 ERA across 21 2/3 innings of work.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #61
Cristopher Sánchez recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed two runs over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Blue Jays.
Sánchez authored another masterful performance, notching his fourth double-digit strikeout effort, while limiting Toronto’s lineup to just five baserunners over seven frames. He gave up only four hits, including a fifth-inning solo shot to Ernie Clement, which was just the fourth round-tripper he’s allowed this entire season. The 29-year-old southpaw continues to bolster his NL Cy Young Award case after putting together a remarkable 50 2/3 scoreless innings streak earlier this month. He’ll face a tough challenge his next time out with a road matchup against the Brewers on Sunday.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #46
Patrick Corbin gave up five runs over three innings on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.
Corbin gave up four hits, including a two-run homer to Adolis García as he allowed four runs for the second consecutive start. The interesting wrinkle here is that Simeon Woods-Richardson tossed four scoreless innings out of the bullpen in his Toronto debut, which could set up a potential piggyback situation moving forward. Corbin is not a recommended fantasy option when he faces the Yankees on Sunday.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #54
Twins acquired RHP Taylor Rashi from the Diamondbacks for cash.
Rashi is merely a depth addition for Minnesota after being removed from Arizona’s roster last week. The 30-year-old has posted a serviceable 5.40 ERA across 20 innings in the majors over the last two seasons. It’s worth noting that he’s compiled some impressive numbers at the Triple-A level in recent years, but that success hasn’t translated into a permanent role at the highest level.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #22
Garrett Whitlock (knee) is on track to be activated prior to Tuesday’s game against the Rays.
Whitlock has rejoined the Red Sox down in Tampa Bay after wrapping up a minor league rehab assignment with scoreless inning for Triple-A Worcester over the weekend. The 29-year-old could wind up getting the occasional save chance with Aroldis Chapman dealing with a minor hamstring issue that could limit his availability for back-to-back situatuins.
  • TB Designated Hitter #2
Yandy Díaz launched a leadoff homer and tallied two RBI on Monday, powering the Rays to a 3-1 win over the Red Sox.
Díaz greeted Red Sox lefty Connelly Early with a leadoff homer before tacking on a key insurance run with an eighth-inning sacrifice fly. It was his 12th long ball of the season. The 34-year-old on-base machine has put together one of the strongest stretches of his career recently, hitting .319 (37-for-116) with eight homers and 24 RBI over his last 30 games. He’s hitting .429 (12-for-28) over his last seven games alone.
