Pickup of the Day

Bol Bol

Bol Bol

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

There are quite a few good pickups from Wednesday’s massive 10-game slate and some of them are widely available in Yahoo Leagues. Here’s my top five adds of the night with a few honorable mentions to follow. For NBA news and fantasy advice, find me on Twitter here!

Jaylen Nowell (20%)- This was perhaps the best game of his career. He went off for 23 points in only 21 minutes, and he’s been smashing with low workloads for 1.5 weeks now. Through five games, Nowell has been an 8th-rounder in 9-cat in only 21.8 minutes. His peripheral stats aren’t amazing, but he’s too hot not to add and can flat out score. “He’s the best scorer on the team, by far,” Anthony Edwards said. “He’s incredible to watch. It’s must-see TV with him, for sure.”

Bol Bol (40%)- It’s officially Bol Bol “SZN” with two straight games with at least 20 minutes. He has video game upside with a block rate that is borderline unfair and a sweet 3-point stroke as well. In 17 minutes per game across five appearances, Bol Bol ranks as an 8th-rounder in 9-cat…

Caleb Martin (8%)- Finally. A lot of smart fantasy managers were taking this guy in the last round for a reason, but he was pretty poor prior to Wednesday’s explosion. He’s worth grabbing even though the Heat are in the market for an upgrade at PF.

Jalen McDaniels (12%)- Shoutout to his brother Jaden for one of the best fantasy lines of the season for the Wolves, but Jalen also had himself a game. The Hornets have almost no depth right now, and Jalen has impressed in the past when the minutes are there. And just like his brother, he can fill a stat sheet, finishing with a season-high 17 points with six rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in only 22 minutes.

Isaiah Livers (2%)- Detroit’s beat writers were all over this guy during the offseason and we got a glimpse why tonight as he finished with 12 points, two rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in 23 minutes. With a strong stat set and a big path to more minutes, he’s a strong flier.

Honorable Mentions:

De’Anthony Melton- He has done an outstanding job with his limited minutes, but the workload is not where it needs to be right now. I do think that will change soon with Philly sitting at 1-4 and with their other role players struggling mightily.

Talen Horton-Tucker: His stat profile is super weird, but hey, Collin Sexton is injured and Mike Conley is about to get load-managed for the back-to-back.

Justise Winslow- He’s not going to win you percentages or hit many 3s, but he can put up plenty of points, boards and dimes with a trickle of defensive stats. Worth monitoring with Damian Lillard injuring his calf. Shaedon Sharpe is also worth a look and has better per-minute upside.

Bruce Brown- Generally, he’s only worth streaming when the Nuggets are down a stud.

Austin Reaves- Was awesome for the Lakers late last season. Strong add with Westbrook’s future in doubt.

Cedi Osman- I don’t think he holds much value whenever Darius Garland gets back but stream the Last Cedi until then.

Chris Boucher- He’s officially on red alert with two strong performances in limited minutes. Nick Nurse also talked him up for once and that’s not nothing.

Tari Eason- I’m not giving up on him. The big lines and minutes are coming.

KJ Martin Jr.- Meh. He’s playing well but the Rockets are simply showcasing him.

Josh Richardson- I’d add if I didn’t think Devin Vassell was rested in the name of the tank.
