Dominick Barlow, Tacko Fall miss Monday practice

Dominick Barlow (back) and Tacko Fall (hip) did not participate in Monday’s practice.

Fall, whose contract was converted from an Exhibit 10 to a two-way deal, suffered a strained left hip early in the preseason. While his absence won’t affect fantasy basketball, the 76ers are thin at center. That also impacts Barlow, whose sore back may keep him out of Tuesday’s game against the Knicks. Jabari Walker may be asked to play some minutes at center if Barlow joins Adem Bona (calf) and Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) on the sideline.

The Dan Le Batard Show crew unpacks the Miami Heat's disastrous 0-4 start, including Giannis Antetokounmpo's chemistry with the team and Bam Adebayo's comments to the media about being a 'scapegoat'.

Barlow and Fall remain out, and both are likely to miss extended time due to their respective injuries. Adem Bona and Jabari Walker will continue to fill out the back end of the 76ers’ interior rotation.
  • PHI Forward #25
Neither Barlow nor Fall played in Tuesday’s win over the Knicks, and both may be looking at extended absences. Barlow’s injury is more impactful, as he will play rotation minutes once healthy. Adem Bona served as the backup center on Tuesday, but he played only 10 minutes, which isn’t enough to affect fantasy basketball.
  • PHI Forward #25
Neither Barlow nor Fall practiced on Monday, so the injury statuses are unsurprising. However, Barlow is now out with a stress reaction in his lower back, not the soreness he initially reported. Barlow should be considered out indefinitely until the 76ers provide a timeline.
  • PHI Forward-Center #45
Wade rolled his left ankle in Friday’s preseason finale against the Celtics, while Barlow is dealing with back soreness. 76ers head coach Nick Nurse said after Friday’s game that Wade’s ankle injury wasn’t a major concern, which could bode well for his availability Tuesday night. Neither Wade nor Barlow is in a position to be players who absolutely need to be rostered in fantasy leagues. However, Philadelphia’s injury-riddled frontcourt frees up minutes at the forward spots.
  • PHI Center #99
The 7-foot-5 Fall, who was signed to an Exhibit 10 contract in early September, did not play in any of the 76ers’ preseason games due to a hip injury. He’ll remain with the franchise on a two-way deal, potentially adding frontcourt depth once he’s cleared to return. Adem Bona is still recovering from a foot injury, while Ariel Hukporti went down for the season with a ruptured Achilles in Philadelphia’s preseason opener
  • PHI Center #99
Fall will miss at least two weeks with a left hip strain, the 76ers announced Thursday. Once he’s healthy, Fall will compete with Adem Bona and Ariel Hukporti for backup big man minutes behind Joel Embiid.
  • NBA Center #99
Fall last played in the NBA in 2022, but he’ll get another shot after playing professionally in China. Fall could make an impact as a backup big man if he sees the court, but he’ll compete with Adem Bona and Ariel Hukporti for minutes behind the oft-injured Joel Embiid. Thomas and Nelson Jr. are unlikely to see many minutes this season, barring multiple injuries up the depth chart.
  • LAL Forward #23
One day removed from informing the Lakers of his decision to move on, James has received interest from multiple teams in free agency. Golden State, Cleveland and Miami have been mentioned in various reports, and now Philadelphia has reportedly thrown its hat into the ring. The 76ers made a major move on Wednesday, acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Celtics for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks. On paper, Philadelphia’s current roster has the look of a contender in the East, even without James. Adding LeBron to the mix would round out their starting lineup, pushing Dominick Barlow to the bench after he started for most of the 2025-26 campaign.
  • PHI Forward #25
After beginning training camp competing for a spot in the 76ers’ rotation, the combination of his play and injuries to Joel Embiid and Paul George led to Barlow becoming a fixture in the starting lineup. Starting 59 of the 71 games he appeared in, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 23.8 minutes. Barlow’s production wasn’t enough to make him a consistent factor in fantasy basketball. Still, the recent injury histories of Embiid and George mean he should offer streaming value at a minimum.
  • PHI Center-Forward #21
Right ankle and right hip injuries sidelined Embiid for Game 2, a defeat that dropped the 76ers into a 0-2 hole. He’ll take on his usual role as the starting center, but the rotation behind the former MVP is likely to be adjusted. Dominick Barlow, who played well in Game 2, may take on some backup center minutes because his defense is superior to Andre Drummond’s when switched onto a Knicks guard, most notably Jalen Brunson. Joining Embiid in the starting lineup are Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Paul George and Kelly Oubre Jr.

Derrick White (hip) is available for Tuesday’s game against the Nets.

White was initially listed as probable for Tuesday’s game, so the status upgrade was expected. He’ll fill his usual spot in the Celtics’ starting lineup.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Anthony Edwards (knee) will undergo arthroscopic surgery and will miss up to two months.

So much for Edwards being listed as questionable on the Timberwolves’ initial injury report for Wednesday’s game against the Warriors. He’ll reportedly need to undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee and could miss up to two months. While the timeline isn’t guaranteed, fantasy managers can stash Edwards on the IL until he’s cleared to return. As alternatives, Ayo Dosunmu and Terrence Shannon Jr. should see more opportunities, and starters Jaden McDaniels and Jonathan Kuminga should too.

Spencer Jones (hamstring) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans.

Jones hasn’t played this season, and his absence has factored into rookie Trevon Brazile getting consistent rotation minutes. While he isn’t a must-roster player in redraft leagues, Brazile has played well enough to merit remaining in the rotation once the Nuggets are whole.

Cameron Johnson (ankle) is doubtful for Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans.

Johnson has missed Denver’s last two games and will likely miss a third. If he remains out, Bryce Hopkins should get another start.

Alpha Diallo (personal reasons) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans.

The good news is that the Nuggets are no longer listing a sprained right wrist as the reason why Diallo won’t play. However, he remains away from the team for personal reasons. With Cameron Johnson (ankle) doubtful, Bryce Hopkins is likely to get a third consecutive start.

Caleb Martin (thumb) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Thunder.

Martin hasn’t appeared in a game this season yet. However, if he is available on Wednesday, the Mavericks’ many injuries could thrust him into the rotation immediately. That wouldn’t be enough to make Martin a player worth rostering in fantasy leagues.

Naji Marshall (illness) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Thunder.

Marshall did not play in Monday’s win over the Heat, but his absence coincided with Kyrie Irving’s return after sitting out Saturday. Irving is also questionable for Wednesday night; Marshall could start if he’s available, but Kyrie isn’t. If both can’t play, Walter Clayton Jr. and Marcus Sasser could see increased opportunities.

Kyrie Irving (knee) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Thunder.

While Wednesday’s game is not part of a back-to-back, Irving is back on the injury report. After sitting out Saturday’s loss to the Spurs, he logged 33 minutes in Monday’s win over the Heat. Naji Marshall (illness) could potentially start if Irving can’t play, but he’s also considered questionable.

Sergio de Larrea (knee) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Thunder.

De Larrea sprained his right knee during Monday’s win over the Heat and did not return. Walter Clayton Jr. played 17 minutes against Miami and was productive; that may earn him rotation minutes again on Wednesday.

Tarik Biberović (heel) is doubtful for Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks.

Biberović, the 56th overall pick in the 2023 draft, has yet to make his NBA debut. He has a slight chance of being available to play on Wednesday, but that wouldn’t affect fantasy basketball.
