Trae Young led the Hawks with 30 points (11-of-24 FGs), one rebound, nine assists, two blocks, three 3-pointers and five turnovers in a 114-113 loss to Brooklyn on Wednesday.
For just the second time this season, Trae didn’t record a steal. However, he was able to make up for that with his first two blocks of the season, and he scored at least 30 points for the third straight game. Young continues to put up numbers that will make managers forgive him for his slow start to the season. He has raised his 9-cat value to the top-30, and it could be higher if his free throw percentage hasn’t suffered in recent weeks. He is one of the best free throw shooters in the league, but he has shot 78.9% over the past two weeks. When that rises to his typical elite percentage, his value will skyrocket.
