Jordan Hawkins led New Orleans with 23 points (9-of-21 FGs), four rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers in a 104-89 loss to Golden State on Wednesday.
With Herb Jones sidelined, the second-year guard was able to slide into the starting lineup in his place. Hawkins struggled with his shot in their previous game, but overall, he has gotten off to a hot start shooting the ball this year. On top of Herb’s injury, Trey Murphy and Dejounte Murray have also been sidelined, which has opened up a lot of minutes and shots for Hawkins. Long-term, Hawkins’ role will be reduced when the team gets healthy. However, managers should continue to ride the hot hand, especially if he continues to start and play big minutes.
  • OKC Small Forward #34

Kenrich Williams (knee) is off the injury report ahead of Monday’s matchup with the Clippers.
Kenny Hustle has yet to play in 2024-25 while recovering from knee surgery, but he’s poised to make his season debut Monday. With Chet Holmgren (hip) now out 8-10 weeks and no other options at center, Williams could see substantial minutes right out of the gate.
  • HOU Point Guard #5
Fred VanVleet is out for Monday’s matchup with the Wizards due to left hamstring soreness.
VanVleet will miss his first game of the season, though the severity of his injury is unclear. Houston played Sunday, and VanVleet logged 37 minutes, so this could be a precautionary move on the second leg of a back-to-back set. FVV joins Steven Adams (questionable, knee) and Jock Landale (out, shoulder) on the injury report. Amen Thompson and Reed Sheppard will be the likely beneficiaries of VanVleet’s absence.
  • WAS Power Forward #33
Kyle Kuzma (right groin) is off the injury report ahead of Monday’s matchup with the Rockets, while Bub Carrington (right knee) and Richaun Holmes (illness) are questionable.
Kuz will return from an extended absence and likely reclaim his starting job from Kyshawn George. Carrington’s late addition to the injury report means he should be a GTD for this one, and Holmes’ availability won’t have much of an impact in the world of fantasy hoops.
  • NOP Small Forward #25
Trey Murphy III (right hamstring strain) will make his season debut against the Nets on Monday.
Murphy III may face a minutes restriction in his first game back, but with mounting injuries in New Orleans, the Pelicans may not be able to afford the luxury of easing him back into action. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his playing time and usage against Brooklyn.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #0
Malik Monk (right ankle injury) will not play Monday against the Spurs, according to NBA reporter Chris B. Haynes.
Monk picked up the injury early in Sunday’s win over the Suns, and he logged only seven minutes. Keon Ellis played 28 minutes off the bench, and he should be the biggest beneficiary of Monk’s absence.
  • DET Small Forward #9
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Ausar Thompson has been cleared by the NBA’s fitness-to-play panel.
Thompson has been sidelined since March while dealing with blood clots, but he’ll be available to start ramping up in anticipation of a return in the near future. Thompson’s eventual return could mean fewer minutes for the likes of Tim Hardaway Jr., Malik Beasley and Simone Fontecchio, though it’s likely Thompson is eased back into action after such a long layoff.
  • OKC Power Forward #7
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Chet Holmgren sustain a right iliac hip fracture, and a “return to play protocol will be provided in 8-10 weeks.”
The Thunder were already down Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams, and Holmgren’s injury leaves the frontcourt without a true center. More minutes should be available for the likes of Isaiah Joe, Cason Wallace and Ousmane Dieng, though it’s unclear how OKC’s rotations will look with no clear solution at the five.
Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Chet Holmgren joined the injury list over the week, leaving significant holes in their teams’ rotations and fantasy lineups.
  • MEM Small Forward #3
Jake LaRavia racked up 18 points (6-of-9 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, three steals, three blocks, and two three-pointers in Sunday’s Trail Blazers-Grizzlies games.
LaRavia’s scoring numbers have been up and down but he’s been especially active as a rebounder, passer, and defender as of late. He’s posted at least five rebounds, five assists, and a steal in three of his previous four contests but will slip back to irrelevance once more veteran forwards are healthy again.
  • MEM Power Forward #13
Jaren Jackson Jr. tallied 20 points (6-of-12 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, three steals, and three three-pointers in the Grizzlies’ win over the Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Jackson was noticeably less productive on offense after his recent 39-point performance but paced the Grizzlies in points again while chipping in with some defensive contributions. He’s been able to replicate his usual numbers even with his team shorthanded.
  • TOR Small Forward #30
Ochai Agbaji tallied 16 points (5-of-7 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, one assist, one block, and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.
Agbaji was among the few Raptors who had an effective two games in Los Angeles County. Counting Saturday’s loss to the Clippers, he scored 37 points on 14-of-21 shooting from the field while also making seven 3-pointers. Filling the void left by Scottie Barnes, Agbaji has been a 3rd-round player over the last week. He’s rostered in 37% of Yahoo leagues, and if not for the Raptors’ upcoming three-game week, Agbaji would be an excellent player to add.
