Here we go with the College Hoops DFS slate for the evening slate on Wednesday, March 16. We have six games on FanDuel and seven games on DraftKings with lineups locking at 6:40 ET on both sites.
The following analysis will highlight several top plays, bargains, and other information you need to know in order to create a cash-inducing squad.
With that, let’s get to the daily fantasy analysis!
TOP PLAYS
Peter Kiss - G - Bryant (FD: $8,600 / DK: $8,900)
This First Four matchup between Bryant and Wright State has the highest over/under of the night at 154 total points. Both teams play relatively fast with subpar defenses, which is a recipe for plenty of fantasy production. Kiss is the best overall play within that. He’s averaging 40 FPPG this season, fresh off a cool 56 FP outing against Wagner. In fact, Kiss has achieved 45+ fantasy points in six of his last 11 games. You better believe we’ll see the best version of him while playing in the March Madness limelight.
Tanner Holden - G - Wright State (FD: $7,100 / DK: $6,900)
Wright State ranks 58th in tempo, and Bryant is 7th in that regard. Playing up in pace should help the Wright State players, including Holden, who has averaged 38 FPPG over his last six outings. That’s a realistic baseline in this fantastic matchup, as Bryant also ranks 218th in adjusted defensive efficiency.
Grant Basile - F - Wright State (FD: $8,100 / DK: $7,300)
I’ll probably stack three or four different players from this Wright State-Bryant game. It’s that good from a fantasy perspective. Basile has been a fantasy beast with 41+ FP in three of his last five games. Similar to the previous write-up of Holden, this matchup should bring out the best in the 6’9” forward. Basile is a legitimate 20 point and 10 rebound candidate in a fantastic draw.
Also Consider: Michael Weathers (DK), Jake Laravia (DK), Nelly Junior Joseph (great value DK)
BARGAINS
Malachi Smith - G - Dayton (FD: $5,700 / DK: $7,700)
First off, look at the salary discrepancy for Smith. Needless to say, he’s an outstanding value pick on FanDuel. There’s only one caveat: We’ll need to double-check if Smith is actually playing tonight. He suffered an ankle injury in the A10 Tournament, deemed as questionable for Wednesday’s draw at Toledo. If Smith ends up playing without limitations, then he’s a steal on FanDuel.
Caleb McConnell - G - Rutgers (FD: $4,800 / DK: $5,900)
McConnell isn’t an exciting pick, but he could get the job done. The Rutgers guard is averaging 20 FPPG this season, and that’s a realistic baseline tonight. McConnell is cheap on both DFS sites while playing heavy minutes for the Scarlet Knights. Here’s to hoping he can post at least 20-25 fantasy points as a serviceable value filler against Notre Dame.
Trey Calvin - G - Wright State (FD: $7,800 / DK: $4,900)
Calvin is appropriately priced on FanDuel. He’s way too cheap on DraftKings, so definitely lock him in over there. Case in point: Calvin has been between 30-40 fantasy points in each of his last four games. He’s playing one of the fastest-paced teams in the country tonight while soaking up nearly all the minutes available. Calvin posted a team-high 21 points (39 FP) in the Horizon League Final, and he could be a scoring machine again on Wednesday.
Also Consider: Paul Atkinson (GPP), Trae Berhow (FD)
