Chris Olave (concussion) is expected to be placed on injured reserve, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Olave has already been ruled out for Week 10 against the Falcons. Rapoport notes that the move to IR is expected to become official later today. That puts Olave on the shelf for at least four games. Rapoport even speculated that given the nature of the injury and the team’s record, Olave’s season could already be over. Olave was placed on a backboard and carted off the field after he suffered his second concussion of the season and fifth documented concussion of his football-playing career in Week 9 against the Panthers.

49ers OL Ben Batch (ankle) will go on injured reserve.
It’s a high-ankle sprain. It’s possible that Bartch would make it back for the playoffs if the 49ers can overcome the odds to get there, but with Aaron Banks back he probably wouldn’t make the starting lineup if he did. Bartch had a career-best 74.8 PFF grade in 65 snaps blocking this season and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason entering his age-27 season. It’s possible he’s done enough to earn a stopgap starter spot somewhere, depending on how offensive line situations shake out for the Shanaclan this offseason.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Isaac Guerendo has a sprained foot, and the team will “evaluate him over the next few days” to determine his Week 15 availability.
An MRI confirmed previous suspicions that Guerendo suffered a sprained foot in Sunday’s win over the Bears. Now, the 49ers will see if the rookie can overcome a short rest week in time to suit up for Thursday night’s game against the Rams. The 49ers need all hands on deck as the look to make a late postseason push, but four days of rest may not be enough time for Guerendo to get right. He’ll likely be listed as a DNP on the team’s estimated practice report on Monday, but Tuesday and Wednesday will be something to monitor as the team prepares for the divisional matchup. If he can’t play, Patrick Taylor would be next in line to lead the 49ers’ backfield.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #5
The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt writes that “Internally (and externally), many have wondered when — not if — [Garrett] Wilson will request a trade.”
Rosenblatt notes that multiple team sources said in 2023 that Wilson “expressed privately that if things didn’t get better, he wouldn’t want to stick around long-term,” and that he “will likely” seek an extension worth “more than $30 million per year” this offseason. You didn’t think Jets drama was merely limited to Aaron Rodgers, did you? The Jets fielded calls on Wilson at the trade deadline. It’s hard to understand what a market for him would look like without knowing how adamant Wilson is on getting out of New York and what levers he’s willing to press, but there have absolutely been worse receivers traded for a first-round pick. Teams would likely have to bid more than that.
  • GB Wide Receiver #87
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Romeo Doubs is still in concussion protocol.
It’s only Monday, meaning Doubs has plenty of time to clear protocol before Week 15’s game against the Seahawks. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Doubs clear protocol before the weekend, as he was limited in practice last week, and is more than a week removed from when he first suffered the brain injury. We’ll see how things go throughout the week, but a few limited practices are a good early sign for his availability.
  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
The Athletic’s Chad Graff writes that he expects the Patriots to “offer [Tee Higgins] the moon.”
The Patriots and Higgins do seem a perfect match with how Drake Maye has been playing of late, perhaps only to be complicated by the fact that other teams will also bring their entire checkbooks to Higgins in free agency. Higgins is on the franchise tag and franchising him a second time is expected to be too onerous for Cincinnati’s coffers. The widespread belief in the industry is that Higgins will leave in free agency. The Patriots are an obvious starting point.
  • LV Quarterback #12
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports an MRI revealed Aidan O’Connell suffered a bone bruise in his knee in Week 14’s loss to the Buccaneers.
O’Connell went from being carted off the field and sporting an air cast less than 24 hours ago to now having a chance to play in Week 15 against the Falcons. After some concerns that he may be lost for the season, O’Connell has avoided the worst and now “has a shot” to play this week, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. This news comes minutes after head coach Antonio Pierce said Desmond Ridder would start in Week 15 against his former team, so we’ll see what happens in the coming days following this announcement.
  • MIA Tackle #72
Mike McDaniel said Terron Armstead (knee) won’t need surgery and that “it’s a rest thing.”
Armstead played just five snaps before leaving Week 14’s game against the Jets. Practice status will tell a lot, and Armstead has been questionable and played for most of the last two seasons with the Dolphins, but we wouldn’t be surprised if he missed Week 15’s game against the Texans. Patrick Paul replaced Armstead.
  • LV Quarterback #10
Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said Desmond Ridder would start against the Falcons in Week 15 if Aidan O’Connell (knee) is unable to.
Pierce’s commitment to the bit is notable, but after they aircasted O’Connell and carted him off in Week 14, we’re quite comfortable in saying that Ridder will helm a #RevengeGame against the Falcons. (Can it be a #RevengeGame if you barely earned the right to start in the first place? We’re looking into this.) A Ridder takeover, something that could possibly last the final four weeks of the season, would probably relegate Jakobi Meyers to fantasy benches and leave Brock Bowers as the only Raiders tight end or receiver worth starting.
  • CAR Running Back #24
Jonathon Broks suffered a torn ACL in the Panthers’ Week 14 loss to the Eagles, ending his season.
It’s a brutal blow for Brooks, who made his NFL debut in Week 12 after suffering a torn ACL in the same knee in November 2023 while playing at Texas. This was the immediate concern for Brooks when he suffered the non-contact injury in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles and needed to be carted off the field. Now, he will begin yet another long rehab process in hopes of being ready in time for training camp, although it wouldn’t be surprising if his 2025 season followed a similar path to this season given the timing of the injury. Brooks totaled 45 scoreless yards from scrimmage on 12 touches this season.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
FOX’s Jay Glazer reports that Aaron Rodgers has been playing through a “hamstring tear, MCL sprain, and a high-ankle sprain.”
While that would explain a lot, and Glazer reports that it “raised him up a lot in the eyes of his teammates,” Rodgers hasn’t exactly played well through the injuries. The first 300-yard outing since 2021 that he posted against Miami on Sunday is a good first step towards showing that he can still hack it at an advanced age. The context of playing through those injuries isn’t exactly helping the idea that Rodgers might simply not be a quarterback you can rely on as a starter in 2025.
