Aidan O’Connell completed 23-of-35 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns in Las Vegas’ 19-17, Week 13 loss to the Chiefs.
To O’Connell’s credit: This was a better game than we expected for him. He was a beat slow in making his throws, but he was willing to push the ball downfield in a way that Gardner Minshew wasn’t able to. He was lobbing balls above underneath zone defenders all day, and he found Tre Tucker isolated down the sideline for 58 yards to briefly take a 17-16 lead. O’Connell had led the team from the Vegas 8 all the way down to the Kansas City 32, roughly in field goal range notwithstanding the struggles of kicker Daniel Carlson, before an errant snap by Jackson Powers-Johnson clunked off O’Connell’s right arm and was recovered by the Chiefs with 15 seconds left. O’Connell finds himself as a potential superflex QB2 in Week 14 against the Buccaneers after this performance.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Alexander Mattison (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 14 against the Bucs.
Zamir White was ruled out on Friday. Mattison was given a shot to suit up after getting in three practices this week but still needs more time to recover from his lingering ankle issue. With nothing left to play for, the Raiders don’t need to rush the veteran back. Sincere McCormick and Ameer Abdullah will split the backfield this week. McCormick led the team with 12 carries last week while Abdullah remains the top back in passing situations. Both are RB3/FLEX plays for Week 14.
  • TB Running Back #7
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Bucky Irving (hip/back) is expected to play in Week 14 against the Raiders.
Irving missed two practices this week before being upgraded to a limited session on Friday. He was then listed as questionable for Week 14. Irving has had his practice reps managed at various points throughout the year, so this isn’t entirely new for him. He tweaked his hip late in the first half of his Week 13 breakout but returned for a phenomenal second half. Irving rushed 25 times for 152 yards and a score versus the Panthers. Having fully taken over as the Bucs’ top back, Irving sits in the RB1 ranks for Week 14.
  • MIN Kicker #16
Vikings activated K Will Reichard (quad) from injured reserve.
The team also released kicker John Parker Romo in an associated move. Reichard rejoins a Vikings team playing for the top seed and only playoff bye out of the NFC with five weeks remaining in the regular season.
  • SF Safety #29
49ers activated S Talanoa Hufanga (wrist) from injured reserve.
Hufanga bolsters an already sharp secondary, although the absence of DE Nick Bosa could place additional strain on the second level with a lessened ability to generate organic pressure up front. Expect Hufanga to step back into his starting safety role after missing all but two games this season.
  • NO Running Back #25
Saints activated RB Kendre Miller from injured reserve.
The oft-injured running back will make his return to the active roster in time for the team’s Week 14 game against the Giants. With Taysom Hill now done for the season with a knee injury, Miller could soak up additional opportunities behind Alvin Kamara the rest of the way.
  • SF Defensive End #97
49ers ruled out DE Nick Bosa for Week 14 against the Bears.
The 49ers continue to be bitten by the injury bug, now without one of their defensive stalwarts as they take on the Bears in a must-win game. The NFC West is the tightest division in football and the 49ers know at least one of the teams from the division will pick up a win this week with the Seahawks playing the Cardinals, making this game of the utmost importance to their playoff chances.
  • SEA Running Back #9
Seahawks ruled out RB Kenneth Walker (ankle/calf) for Week 14 against the Cardinals.
Walker practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday before missing practice on Thursday and Friday, ultimately being ruled out for the team’s must-win divisional tilt against the Cardinals. Zach Charbonnet served in a legitimate workhorse role when Walker missed two games early in the season, which is likely to play out again in Week 14.
  • DAL Tight End #87
Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (concussion) is off the injury report and will play in Week 14 against the Bengals.
Ferguson missed the previous two games after his second concussion of the season in Week 11, clearing the league’s five-step concussion protocol ahead of the team’s Monday Night Football game against the Bengals in Week 14. Expect Ferguson to be back on the field with no limitations as the Cowboys grind towards the end of the season.
  • DAL Wide Receiver #88
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) is off the injury report and will play in Week 14 against the Bengals.
Lamb missed practice on Thursday but upgraded to a full participant on both Friday and Saturday, ultimately doing enough to avoid an injury designation for Monday Night Football against the Bengals. Expect Lamb to continue playing through the AC joint injury for the remainder of the season.
  • DAL Cornerback #7
Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs (knee) is questionable for Week 14 against the Bengals.
Diggs is attempted to return from two missed contests due to a knee injury. Should he be able to suit up, it would be the first time all season in which all three top corners for the Cowboys are active together after DaRon Bland missed the first 11 weeks of the 2024 season. We’ll likely need to wait until 90 minutes prior to kickoff on Monday night to see if that will ultimately transpire.
