NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Saints plan to meet with Eagles OC Kellen Moore for their head coaching vacancy after the Super Bowl.
Moore has already interviewed with the Saints twice. As Pelissero notes, a third meeting can’t happen until after the Super Bowl, hence the timing. The Super Bowl is also conveniently located in New Orleans, making an in-person visit a small ask for Moore. It’s been reported multiple times that Moore is the favorite to land the Saints opening. A third meeting all but confirms that. Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver and Giants OC Mike Kafka have both had multiple interviews with the Saints and are still in the mix.

Dolphins hired former Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik as their senior passing game coordinator.
Slowik was fired after a disappointing 2024 season with the Texans offense. He was a hot head coaching candidate after helping C.J. Stroud to a formidable rookie season in 2023, but nearly all offensive numbers faltered in Stroud’s second season. The Texans chose to move on, and now Slowik joins the Dolphins as passing game coordinator. The 37-year-old will have a chance to work with Tua Tagovailoa to improve Miami’s passing game.
  • DAL Quarterback #4
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott “looking to amp it up” for his recovery from a torn hamstring.
Prescott tore his hamstring in November and underwent surgery for it. When asked about his health, he said he is “doing a lot more, getting there 12 weeks or so out of surgery now.” The Cowboys have a new head coach in Brian Schottenheimer after a disappointing season saw Prescott play just eight games before his injury. Schottenheimer was the team’s offensive coordinator last season, so Prescott already has familiarity with him heading into 2025.
  • BUF Coaching Staff
Bills hired former Panthers special teams coordinator Chris Tabor as their new special teams coordinator.
Tabor spent 2022-2023 as the Panthers’ special teams coordinator, also working as the team’s interim head coach after Frank Reich’s firing. He spent 2024 out of the NFL, but now returns to join Buffalo as special teams coordinator.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports the Jets were “open to the possibility” of retaining Aaron Rodgers if he attended all mandatory practices and stopped appearing on outside media.
In other words: The Jets are trying to establish a serious football culture and want a leader who buys in to it. Rodgers missed two mandatory minicamp practices last year due to a trip in Egypt and, of course, makes weekly paid appearances on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show. It is left unsaid in this report what Rodgers’ reaction to these proposed adjustments were, but it is pretty clear what his response was by the fact that the Jets informed Rodgers that they are moving on.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #16
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said the Seahawks are “working through” whether Tyler Lockett will be on the roster in 2025.
It wasn’t exactly a glowing endorsement, in other words. Lockett turns 33 in September and is due a $30.8 million cap figure in 2025. Releasing Lockett would save the Seahawks $17 million against the salary cap. That cap number is untenable for a receiver who wasn’t targeted more than five times in a game after mid-October. It’s possible the Seahawks work out a paycut for Lockett, but if not they will likely move forward with Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the main cog of their passing game.
  • SEA Offensive Coordinator
Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak told reporters he plans on using a fullback in Seattle.
The vision that Kubiak laid out to reporters about the Seattle 2025 offense on Tuesday looked to be very old-school Shanahan. Outside zone as a base with pin-and-pull, inside zone, and some other concepts sprinkled in as they look to establish the run. Seattle currently doesn’t have a fullback on the roster. If the offensive line can improve in 2025, this could mean big things for Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. Given how Seattle’s line played last year, they could improve quite a bit and still be below-average.
  • NE Wide Receiver #1
The Athletic’s Chad Graff writes that it “feels like a guarantee” that the Patriots will draft a wide receiver.
Despite carrying six wideouts on the roster at the end of the season, the Patriots don’t look all that close to having a complete unit, with only DeMario Douglas showing enough to be relied upon as part of the plan in 2025. Graff notes that “whether they go for a small slot receiver or a big outside guy likely hinges on who they land in free agency.” Kayshon Boutte and Ja’Lynn Polk will only have fantasy value next year if they can survive the offseason as likely starters. It feels almost inevitable that multiple receivers will be added to this room this offseason with Mike Vrabel having final say on personnel. Vrabel is not tied to any of the Patriots prospects of the last few drafts.
  • CAR Running Back #24
The Athletic’s Joseph Person writes Jonathon Brooks (knee) is likely to miss “most if not all of 2025.”
Person drew up a running back pick in a mock draft for Carolina and called it a “sneaky position of need” for the Panthers. The backfield behind Chuba Hubbard is now in complete flux with Brooks down and Miles Sanders an “expected cut.” It is not broadly surprising that Brooks can’t be trusted for fantasy purposes in 2025 given how ugly the injury looked when it happened in December. Carolina could look to find a “change-of-pace back who can catch and motor” behind Hubbard, per Person. It’s possible they’ll also bring in additional veteran help this offseason.
  • NYG Quarterback #2
The Athletic’s Dan Duggan writes that it “would be a surprise” if the Giants re-signed Drew Lock this offseason.
To be clear, Duggan specifically says it “would be a surprise if either side is interested in continuing the relationship.” That kind of trust-building does happen when your supposed QB2 is benched for Tommy Cutlets. Lock will be entering his age-29 season and is probably a low-end QB2 at best, but there are plenty of openings around the league. Backup-needy teams will probably look into Lock given his relatively young age and what his arm talent can show on his best days.
  • PHI Coaching Staff
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier is a “strong candidate to have a big role” on the New Orleans offensive staff under Kellen Moore.
“Perhaps offensive coordinator,” Rapoport adds. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has made some noise about blocking assistants from leaving today but with an elevation, he’d have no way to block Nussmeier moving to the Saints. Nussmeier has been Moore’s quarterbacks coach with the Cowboys, Chargers, and Eagles. He has not been a candidate for any prominent external jobs that we’ve written about since interviewing for the Ravens offensive coordinator gig in 2023.
