NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are four games scheduled for Friday.

Forwards:

Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota) – W – $9,200 FanDuel, $7,700 DraftKings, $30 Yahoo

Kaprizov has recorded at least a point in seven straight games, scoring six goals and 10 points over that span. That’s pushed him up to 29 goals and 72 points in 55 games. He’s tied with Nazem Kadri for sixth place in the scoring race.

Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh) – C - $8,400 FanDuel, $7,500 DraftKings, $32 Yahoo

Crosby is also on a seven-game point streak and he’s only gotten better as it’s gone on with three straight two-point contests. Even at the age of 34, Crosby is still among the league’s top performers. Crosby has 19 goals and 56 points in 46 contests this season.

Mats Zuccarello (Minnesota) – W - $7,200 FanDuel, $5,500 DraftKings, $21 Yahoo

Zuccarello has recorded at least a point in 10 of his last 12 contests. He’s been a consistent contributor throughout the season with his last slump of at least two straight pointless games coming from Nov. 11-16. He has 18 goals and 58 points in 48 contests in 2021-22.

Bargain Bin: Bo Horvat (VAN) - $6,100 FanDuel/$4,800 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Matt Boldy (MIN) - $6,000 FanDuel/$4,900 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Nicklas Backstrom (WAS) - $5,500 FanDuel/$4,200 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Anders Lee (NYI) - $4,800 FanDuel/$3,300 DraftKings/$15 Yahoo, Conor Sheary (WAS) - $4,800 FanDuel/$3,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo

Defensemen:

John Carlson (Washington) - $7,100 FanDuel, $6,500 DraftKings, $22 Yahoo

Carlson registered two assists on Wednesday, bringing him up to seven helpers in his last five games. He’s having another great season offensively with 10 goals and 47 points in 55 contests. At this rate he might reach the 70-point milestone for the third time in four years.

Noah Dobson (NY Islanders) - $6,300 FanDuel, $5,700 DraftKings, $18 Yahoo

Dobson has gotten at least a point in each of his last four games and six of his last seven contests. He’s worth considering while he’s hot, though he’s also having a solid season overall with 10 goals and 31 points in 52 games.

Bargain Bin: Matt Dumba (MIN) - $5,300 FanDuel/$4,700 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo, Jared Spurgeon (MIN) - $5,000 FanDuel/$4,900 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Neal Pionk (WPG) - $4,700 FanDuel/$4,000 DraftKings/$15 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Tristan Jarry (Pittsburgh) - $8,300 FanDuel, $8,200 DraftKings, $34 Yahoo

Jarry has been a bit of a mixed bag lately, but he’s been great overall this season with a 2.34 GAA and .920 save percentage in 45 games. More to the point, there isn’t much in the way of great alternatives tonight. The Penguins will be facing Vegas, which has been struggling offensively lately. The Golden Knights have averaged just 2 goals per game over their last 12 contests.

Bargain Bin: Kaapo Kahkonen (MIN) - $8,100 FanDuel/$8,300 DraftKings/$28 Yahoo
