NHL Plays: Friday

Brayden Point

Brayden Point

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that with only game on the schedule that FanDuel allows you to roster five players, including a captain worth 1.5 points, with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a salary cap of $50,000 for six players, including a captain at 1.5 times the points, and they have goaltenders as an option.

Captain:

Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay) - $15,000 FanDuel, $16,500 DraftKings

Kucherov is coming off back-to-back multi-point games. He’s scored seven goals and 30 points in 22 playoff contests, making him just the sixth player to reach the 30-point milestone in a single postseason run since the start of the salary cap era. If he gets three points tonight, then he’ll move up to second place on that list, behind only Evgeni Malkin in 2008-09 (36 points in 24 games).

Other Play: Alexander Radulov (DAL) - $14,500 FanDuel/$11,000 DraftKings

Utility/Flex:

Brayden Point (Tampa Bay) - $14,000 FanDuel, $13,500 DraftKings

Point had an incredible run from Aug. 19-Sep. 17, scoring five goals and 18 points in the span of just nine games. He was held off the scoresheet in back-to-back games after that, but he’s bounced right back with two goals and three points in his last two contests. In other words, he’s one of the most dangerous players on either team right now.

Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay) - $12,500 FanDuel, $13,200 DraftKings

Hedman stood out in Game 3 with a goal and two assists. Of course, the Lightning defenseman has been effective throughout the playoffs, scoring 10 goals and 20 points in 22 contests.

John Klingberg (Dallas) - $11,500 FanDuel, $9,900 DraftKings

Klingberg didn’t record a point on Wednesday, but the Stars as a whole didn’t do particularly well in that contest. If you think that Dallas will manage to even the series, then Klingberg is a great bet. Any comeback effort by the Stars will probably involve him.

Bargain Bin: Ondrej Palat (TBL) - $10,500 FanDuel/$12,300 DraftKings, Joe Pavelski (DAL) - $9,000 FanDuel/$11,400 DraftKings, Miro Heiskanen (DAL) - $8,500 FanDuel/$11,700 DraftKings, Blake Coleman (TBL) - $8,000 FanDuel/$10,800 DraftKings, Roope Hintz (DAL) - $7,500 FanDuel/$8,100 DraftKings.
