NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are four games on Wednesday.

Forwards:

Max Pacioretty (Vegas) – W - $9,400 FanDuel, $7,300 DraftKings, $34 Yahoo

Pacioretty is really good value on DraftKings right now, but he’s worth considering in FanDuel and Yahoo too. Although he’s been limited to seven games this season due to injury, he’s been fantastic when healthy with six goals and 10 points. He’s only been held off the scoresheet once this season and has scored at least a goal in each of his last three games.

Artemi Panarin (NY Rangers) – W - $8,600 FanDuel, $6,400 DraftKings, $31 Yahoo

Panarin is red hot going into Wednesday’s action. He had two goals and four points Tuesday night and has recorded multiple points in four of his last five contests. He has nine goals and 30 points in 24 contests.

Roope Hintz (Dallas) – C - $6,800 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings, $21 Yahoo

Hintz struggled through the early portion of the season with just an assist in 10 games, but he’s been a steady contributor since then. Through his last 12 games, he’s scored 11 goals and 15 points in 12 contests, making him a great option at his price point.

Jason Robertson (Dallas) – W - $6,200 FanDuel, $5,700 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

Robertson has recorded at least a point in each of his last six games going into Wednesday’s contest. He’s scored seven goals and 18 points despite being limited to just 16 games so far this season. He’s competitively priced on all websites, so he’s a good choice no matter which place you’re playing.

Bargain Bin: Valeri Nichushkin (COL) - $6,100 FanDuel/$3,900 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Joe Pavelski (DAL) - $5,900 FanDuel/$5,000 DraftKings/$22 Yahoo, Conor Garland (VAN) - $5,600 FanDuel/$4,000 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Chandler Stephenson (VGK) - $5,500 FanDuel/$5,000 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Reilly Smith (VGK) - $5,300 FanDuel/$4,400 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo

Defensemen:

Cale Makar (Colorado) - $7,100 FanDuel, $7,300 DraftKings, $27 Yahoo

Makar has been a consistent contributor throughout the season. His worst point slump was just two straight games and that was back on Oct. 19-21. He has 11 goals and 22 points in 19 contests in 2021-22.

Bargain Bin: Devon Toews (COL) - $5,600 FanDuel/$5,700 DraftKings/$21 Yahoo, Jacob Trouba (NYR) - $5,500 FanDuel/$5,300 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Ryan Graves (NJD) - $4,500 FanDuel/$3,800 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Thatcher Demko (Vancouver) - $7,400 FanDuel, $7,200 DraftKings, $24 Yahoo

I honestly am not too thrilled with any of the goaltending options on Wednesday, but if nothing else Demko is cheap compared to most goaltenders. Plus he is coming off a 31-save shutout against the Kings. He has a 9-11-1 record, 2.82 GAA, and .912 save percentage in 21 games.
