Bill Haas withdrew from the RBC Heritage Friday, citing a wrist injury.
Haas opened with a 1-over 72 at Harbour Town Golf Links, but withdrew prior to the scheduled start of his second round. It marks the first time in 251 starts on the PGA Tour that Haas has withdrawn from an event.
The former FedEx Cup champ has had a solid 2014 campaign thus far, cracking the top 40 in each of his last seven starts heading into this week. He has a pair of top-10 finishes to his credit this season, having tied for sixth at the Humana Challenge and WGC-Cadillac Championship.
Haas had gotten off to a fast start each of the past two weeks. He shared the first-round lead after opening with a 65 at the Shell Houston Open, where he tied for 37th. Last week he held sole possession of the first-round lead after a 68 at the Masters. He tied for 20th.
