Tiger Woods hasn’t said publicly when or where he’ll tee it up next, but he apparently told Jack Nicklaus that he’ll play in the upcoming Memorial Tournament.
Nicklaus, speaking Wednesday during a fundraising event at Ohio State, said that he and Woods had a “long, long talk” at Augusta National.
“It’s as much conversation as I’ve ever had with Tiger,” Nicklaus told local reporters. “We talked about a lot of things. It was good. And he said, ‘Hey, (I’ll) see you in May. I’ll be at the Memorial.’ It’ll be nice to have Tiger back.”
The Memorial, which Woods has won five times, is June 4-7. He missed last year’s event after undergoing back surgery.
Nicklaus said that while they touched on Woods’ recent struggles, much of the conversation was about Woods’ kids and what projects he has coming up.
“I’ve said many times,” Nicklaus said, “he’ll be fine.”
