Patrick Reed will have to outplay Jamie Donaldson, Jonas Blixt and Paul Casey if he hopes to advance to the knockout stage at this week’s Volvo World Match Play Championship.
The draw for this week’s 16-man event in London was announced Monday. Players are seeded by world ranking.
Reed, the U.S. Ryder Cup star who is the only American in the field, will play Donaldson, Blixt and Casey in 18-hole, round-robin matches on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. After stage play is complete, the leading two players per group will advance to the quarterfinals, which begin Saturday.
