KAPALUA, Hawaii – During Jordan Spieth’s first trip to the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in 2014 he flew solo, accompanied only by his manager.

This time the two-time major champion made it a family trip, bringing his parents and sister, Ellie, with him to the year opener, and on Monday his mother posted a picture of Spieth and his sister on Twitter after swimming at a nearby beach.

“I think it might be the longest trip she’s ever gone on,” he said. “My parents said she didn’t sleep the entire flight here.”

Spieth said he arrived in Maui last Wednesday to relax before getting back to work on Monday at the Plantation Course, where he finished runner-up to Zach Johnson in 2014.
