Rod Pampling, Brett Rumford and Greg Chalmers came up short against Jordan Spieth at the Australian Open, but the three men didn’t walk away empty handed.
The three Aussies earned invites to the British Open at St. Andrews with their strong finishes on Sunday.
The top three players in Sydney who were not otherwise exempt for the third major of the season qualified for the Open Championship at St. Andrews. The Aussie Open was the first in a series of qualifying events for the Open.
The next event will be the Thailand Golf Championship Dec. 11-14.
