CROMWELL, Conn. – Topic of conversation on the TPC River Highland’s practice range on Tuesday was U.S. Open venues. Whether by design or happenstance, last week’s Bethpage Open was the last major scheduled in the New York City area.
That’s right, no Shinnecock Hills, no Baltusrol, no Winged Foot. Nothing. In fact, the earliest a NYC venue could work itself into the major rota would be the 2014 PGA which is currently listed as a “TBD.”
After five long days on Long Island, our only thought is ‘thank goodness.’
