MOBILE, Ala. – Short-game specialist Dave Pelz is the newest guru linked to Michelle Wie.
Pelz, who said he’s complementing work that David Leadbetter’s doing with Wie, not replacing him, followed Wie during the first round of the Bell Micro LPGA Classic.
“I’m observing, getting to know her game,” Pelz said.
Wie has visited Pelz at his Austin, Texas, school to work with him in the last two weeks.
What happened to Dave Stockton? Wie worked with Stockton before the Solheim Cup last summer, and she putted terrifically there, but she hasn’t continued the relationship. They’ve not worked together yet this year.
