Ranking intrigue at Torrey Pines

Thumbnail

SAN DIEGO – This just in from across the pond, with his victory at the Volvo Golf Champions Paul Casey will move to No. 5 in the World Ranking but only if Phil Mickelson finishes tied for second or worse at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Mickelson, who currently shares the lead with Bill Haas, has faded to sixth in the ranking but would jump to fourth if he wins or finishes alone in second place at Torrey Pines.

As for Tiger Woods, who is 1 over through five holes on Sunday at Torrey, he will remain at No. 3, behind Martin Kaymer in second and No. 1 Lee Westwood.
