Storm threats push up tee times at AT&T National

BETHESDA, Md. – Tee times for the first two rounds of the AT&T National have been moved up slightly to account for late-afternoon thunderstorm forecasts.

The first groups of each day will begin at 6:30 a.m. ET, leaving the last tee times at 1:25 p.m. With only 132 players in this week’s field, play will finish earlier than tournaments with traditionally bigger field sizes.

Weekend tee times have not yet been determined.

There is a 40-60 percent chance of thunderstorms forecasted for each of the tournament rounds. Wednesday’s pro-am was suspended in mid-afternoon for this reason.

Last year’s edition of the AT&T featured a derecho storm Friday night, which caused damage throughout Congressional Country Club. Saturday’s third round was played in front of a limited spectator audience.
