TURNBERRY, Scotland – Five days in Scotland without a drop of rain soiling the way and we take our first step outside the media center and the skies unload. It was a soaking that, had this been Bethpage, would have surely stopped play for a week.
One of the first players we ran into was Steve Marino, a last minute addition to the field when Shingo Katayama withdrew.
It’s Marino’s first trip to the United Kingdom and he was still getting his links legs.
‘Haven’t even seen the golf course yet,’ he smiled. ‘But the whole place is awesome.’
