Perhaps his back is feeling better after all.
Following a final round at The Barclays Sunday that literally brought the world’s top-ranked player to his knees, Tiger Woods added this week’s Deutsche Bank Championship to his published schedule of events on his website.
While the revision to the schedule Tuesday falls short of an official commitment, it seems to indicate that Woods will be in the field at TPC Boston, where he is scheduled to play the first two rounds Friday and Saturday with world No. 2 Adam Scott and reigning Open champion Phil Mickelson.
The current leader in the FedEx Cup points race, Woods won this event – which benefits in part his Tiger Woods Foundation – in 2006 and finished runner-up in both 2004 and 2007. Late Monday, he announced his withdrawal from the NB3 Foundation Challenge, a charity event played Wednesday and organized by friend and former Stanford teammate Notah Begay III, to rest his ailing back.
