Failing to make the cut at the U.S. Open has afforded Bubba Watson the weekend to work on his fastball.

The reigning Masters champion will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Citi Field on Monday as the New York Mets host the Baltimore Orioles in an interleague game, according to PGATour.com. Watson will then head to Connecticut to compete in the Travelers Championship, site of his first PGA Tour win in 2010.

Going to the bump did not help a pair of top-10 players this week at The Olympic Club. Reigning U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson each threw out a first pitch in separate San Francisco Giants games this week. Both missed the cut.

Women’s world No. 1 Yani Tseng threw out the first pitch at Citi Field on April 9. Since then, she has not added to her three LPGA Tour wins this season.
