Alabama really loves the LPGA.
On Tuesday, the tour made dual announcements about extending its future in the state.
The tour announced that Pratville, Ala., is returning to the schedule in 2014 as the Alabama LPGA Classic. The tour lost the event to this year’s schedule when a new title sponsor couldn’t be found to replace Navistar after the 2012 event. Retirement Systems of Alabama and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail partnered with the LPGA in bringing back the tournament.
The tour also announced that the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic, site of this week’s tour event, is extending its commitment through at least 2014.
The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, home to both Alabama LPGA events, was announced as presenting partner of both the Alabama LPGA Classic and the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic.
Stacy Lewis swept both Alabama events last year.
