The LSU product cracked this week’s field thanks to a sponsor’s exemption. Wright is playing on the Web.com Tour this season but has yet to crack a field as he only owns conditional status. In two previous PGA TOUR starts (2017 RSM Classic, 2016 Zurich Classic) he’s finished outside the top 100 to miss the cut. While his talent has yet to translate, he put on quite a show while at LSU. He ended his career with a 6-0 record in match play, including a 3-0 showing at the 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships. He won four tournaments during his LSU career and posted a 72.81 career scoring average, fourth best in school history. The 23-year-old has a world of upside, but gamers looking to play it safe should probably take the wait-and-see approach until he shows some of that potential.
