Prunty

Prunty is a former five-year college player. He spent his first season at Kansas in 2020 before transferring to North Carolina A&T. After three seasons there, he transferred to Wake Forest for his final college season. He measured 6’1/190 at Wake Forest’s Pro Day before running a 4.45-second 40 and a 6.82 three-cone drill. PFF credits Prunty with eight forced incompletions, one interception, 38 solo tackles, one TFL, three quarterback pressures and one sack last year. He graded out well in run defense in four-of-five seasons, notably earning a 70.9 PFF run-defense grade in 2025. He also garnered third-team All-ACC honors last year, and each of the past two seasons, plus third-team All-CAA honors in 2023 and 2024.

Prunty (6'1/185) came over to USC from Kansas where the former three-star recruit started every game last season as a true freshman. He played exclusively outside corner and recorded an impressive 8.0 PBU, one interception and did not allow a single touchdown in coverage. Which is quite a feat considering how porous the KU defense was last season. Prunty’s departure is said to be non-disciplinary and of a personal nature.

Prunty (6'1/189) just arrived on campus last season and was rated as a three-star prospect who was considered the 137th best cornerback in the nation according to 247Sports. The Portsmouth, VA product recorded 525 snaps while starting every game last season and earned a 67.2 defensive grade from PFF. Prunty was pursued by UConn, Liberty, Pitt and Tennessee during his initial recruitment, so he might revisit those connections now that he is in the transfer portal.
