Eury Pérez tossed five shutout innings with six strikeouts in a win over the Rockies on Tuesday.
Pérez was dominant on Tuesday in Colorado, holding the Rockies scoreless over five innings. He allowed just one hit with no walks while striking out six batters on his way to the win. The only thing stopping Pérez on Tuesday was the rain, which forced a delay after five innings and ended his day at 71 pitches. The 22-year-old right-hander will take a 4.40 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and an 85/28 K/BB ratio across 86 innings into a start against the Rangers in Texas on Sunday.

Nationals optioned OF Eury Perez to Double-A Harrisburg.
Perez went 6-for-18 with a double and a walk this spring in Grapefruit League play. The 21-year-old will continue to ascend through the Nationals’ system this year.

Nationals purchased the contract of OF Eury Perez from High-A Potomac.
Perez, 21, has a .303/.370/.378 batting line over parts of five seasons in the minors. The speedy outfielder has stolen 109 bases over the past two seasons, but has nothing in the way of power and his plate discipline has eroded since being promoted from the Gulf Coast League.

Nationals recalled OF Eury Perez from Triple-A Syracuse

Eury Perez is expected to be recalled by the Nationals when Jayson Werth is officially placed on the disabled list.
Perez impressed the Nationals’ management with a strong showing in the Grapefruit League, and that success has carried over to Triple-A Syracuse. He’s hitting .346/.352/.439 with a homer, six RBI and seven stolen bases through his first 23 games. With Werth’s stint on the DL only expected to last a week or so, Perez may not have much time to make an impact with the big club.

Nationals recalled OF Eury Perez from Triple-A Syracuse.
Perez will provide outfield depth with Jayson Werth (hamstring) on the disabled list. He’s hitting .346/.352/.439 with seven stolen bases in his first 23 games at the Triple-A level, but isn’t likely to make an impact during his time with the Nationals.

Nationals optioned OF Eury Perez to Triple-A Syracuse.
Perez showed some promise this spring in the Grapefruit League, hitting .348 with two stolen bases in eight games. But there simply isn’t a spot for him right now on the Nationals’ roster.

Nationals recalled OF Eury Perez from Triple-A Syracuse.
Perez went 0-for-5 in five games during his brief stint with the big club earlier this year. Perez impressed the Nationals’ management with a strong showing in the Grapefruit League and that success carried over to Syracuse, where he slashed .300/.336/.422 with 23 steals in 96 games. The 23-year-old speedster is a career .305 hitter in the minors with 242 steals in 632 games. Perez could potentially provide a few steals down the stretch for NL-only owners, but Washington’s outfield is too crowded to expect anything more.

Rays acquired OF Eury Perez from the Astros for cash; assigned him to Triple-A Durham.
The Rays needed outfield depth with Steven Souza (hip) and Mikie Mahtook (hand) both sidelined. Perez hasn’t had a particularly impressive year, hitting just .267 with two homers and nine steals in 52 games for Triple-A Fresno. The 26-year-old appeared in 47 games for the Braves last season, batting .269 with no homers and five RBI.
