“Right now Matty DeSalvo is pitching the best by far at Triple-A. If we have a need at the major league level, Matty DeSalvo is that need right now,’' general manager Brian Cashman said. DeSalvo was 1-2 with a 5.87 ERA during five starts for the Yankees earlier this year.

DeSalvo will be eligible to return because Doug Mientkiewicz is going on the DL. It’s a decent matchup for him against a struggling White Sox offense heavy with right-handed hitters. However, he’s still a lousy play in AL-only leagues.
