Will Sammon of The Athletic reports that the Mariners have acquired Michael Hobbs from the Mets for cash considerations.
Hobbs was drafted in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft back in December, but he’ll pitch in 2025 — at least to begin the season, anyway — as a member of the Mariners’ organization. It’s unlikely Hobbs will pitch for Seattle this summer, and his most probable landing spot is Triple-A Tacoma.
